Taxes - does it stand for democracy?

Ok, no-one likes paying high taxes and there is much debate on how taxes should be paid.

But do you think taxes mean democracy? And why do you think the way you do?

BTW and just useless information to add to the list. When Jesus gained the power of the people with love .... the Jewish people just happened to be looking for a saviour because at the time they were paying 49% tax. Gosh that's a lot of tax from your earnings.

It seems to me Jesus was a socialist. But that's just my thought around taxes.

that unbelievably rape is now legal.

You would be freaking out, telling everyone you ran into this is crazy- something needs to be done... now!!! And then every man you told this to just very smugly and condescendingly says...

"Hey... not all men are 'like that.'"

Pretty much sums up my position. Just want to add taxation is theft. As J.L Menchin said, (paraphrase) "A democracy is an auction on stolen property".

I Jesus was a socialist he would not have helped the taxation problem, he would have increased taxes.

Thanks guys for your comments. I guess you can't beat Virtue's answer.

Now that's funny. The meaning of virtue:

1.
a. Moral excellence and righteousness; goodness.
b. An example or kind of moral excellence: the virtue of patience.
2. Chastity, especially in a woman.

I'll go with no.1a.  :greener:

I want to discuss this if it's OK. The men in NZ and feminists in NZ who work would agree with a constitution. I know things are real bad having feminism because it is outdated .... their ideas may have been good in the 60's and sort of in the 70's but it should have changed since then. Yet, the 60's women are the ones in powerful positions at the moment and their sick, f'ed idiot boyfriends.

But what would a constitution be like? How could that work on a global level?

Taxes can be reduced if the gov spends less money.

Why would you want to dissolve sovereignty and create a global constitution?  ?

Good point mr X - if Jesus was a socialist, he'd increase taxes, now lower them.  Socialism is all about high taxes - for social eekwalitee.  It also doesn't work and creates an underclass of lazy people contributing nothing back to the tax pool.  It also encourages (and guarantees) corruption for the few people who actually decide where taxes should be spent.

A true democracy can still be taxed - BUT you should decide where your taxes are spent i.e. the individual decides where his individual tax contribution is spent.  Governments can campaign for certain areas to encourage spending in those areas e.g. "we need more cash for schools - please donate your tax to your local school!" - THAT is a democracy.

Something that is a good example of this :-

That's a democracy in action.

Golly, have "taxes" existed under any other experiment in "government", or politic, and survived for centuries with NO pretense of so-called democracy?

BTW and just useless information to add to the list. When Jesus gained the power of the people with love .... the Jewish people just happened to be the majority of the crowd that,
when polled, called for his crucifixion, along with others deemed criminals.

Depending on who's reinterpretation of the events as recalled is to believed of course.

Why would you want to dissolve sovereignty and create a global constitution?  ?

Because of the world wide business network.

When you have sovereignty businesses go of shore to cut costs through lower wages and to pay higher dividends to shareholders.

This creates unemployment in countries that pay decent wages that provide for a high standard of living.

I don't understand your comment.

But i want to tell you something really crazy about me. The more the people in the world hate, the more I love.

I am not sure how I figured this as a way to cope but I did none the less.

I understand .... I seriously am able to do this. No matter how much men hate women and women hate men... I can see beyond it.

No wonder they say all us on the fences are hated.

He probably means a one world government would probably make everyone poor. Since that endeavor would go down a socialist/communist path, the state will merely provide as it manages. Think a prison or work camp. Everyone is fed. Everyone is clothed. Everyone has the same rights and property. Everyone has the same privilege.

Making everyone equal is not necessarily a good or desirable thing. The real objective is to remove the arbitrary man made coercive obstacles to their freedom and happiness and let them pursue their own endeavors.

You make it sound like Sir Jessy made that comment out of hate.

I doubt it.

Yeah, I know, you just wrote your response in a kind of odd way and didn't mean that.
