What a shocking suprise:

DURHAM, N.C. -- Durham County's district attorney says a clerical error is to blame for charges against an accused child rapist being dismissed by his office. In February 2004, police arrested and charged Norman Brooks in the alleged molestation and rape of Bobby Parker's young daughter. But in September 2005, the charges against Brooks were dropped and the case was dismissed. "This is clearly the fault of this office," said Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong.

Sheesh! This is supposed to be news? In today's online version of The Christian Science monitor, staff writer, Patrik Jonsson, goes on and on about the questionable, privileged, white, male Lacrosse culture at Duke. There's a dirth of information regarding the highly questionable aspects of the accuser's case, and, of course, no mention of the anti-male culture of false accusations on the nation's campuses.

After mentioning questions that the accusation brings up, the author states, in a rather ironic twist,
Quote
Such questions are quite familiar to some members of the campus community, after a female student reported she was sexually assaulted in a dormitory bathroom in 2002. After the same student claimed she was assaulted again in 2004, however, it was determined that neither incident took place, according to Duke's student newspaper, The Chronicle.

Let's get up to speed on prosecutorial misconduct, shall we:

(f) except for statements that are necessary to inform the public of the nature and extent of the prosecutor's action and that serve a legitimate law enforcement purpose, refrain from making extrajudicial comments that have a substantial likelihood of heightening public condemnation of the accused and exercise reasonable care to prevent investigators, law enforcement personnel, employees or other persons assisting or associated with the prosecutor in a criminal case from making an extrajudicial statement that the prosecutor would be prohibited from making under Rule 3.6 or this Rule.

lets keep this one handy...
