The Spot-and-Shoot Game: Israeli female soldiers kill by remote control (http://sabbah.biz/mt/archives/2010/07/18/israeli-the-spot-and-shoot-game/)

[...]

The Spot and Shoot system - officially known as Sentry Tech - has mostly attracted attention because it is operated by 19- and 20-year-old female soldiers, making it the Israeli army's only weapons system operated exclusively by women.

Female soldiers are preferred to operate remote killing devices because of a shortage of male recruits to Israel's combat units. Young women can carry out missions without breaking the social taboo of risking their lives, said Mr Brom.

Ah yes.  that right there is the real reason... Social taboo my arse.  Once men created a better and safer way, women come on and take them over.

It's is the way.  Always has been and always will...  Female version of equality in the military.

Ah, but you forget. Then they kick the men out and claim superiority. Until, of course, the equipment breaks down.  :rolle:

Better, safer and no accountability. Shooting someone with a drone requires no real dealing with the decision to murder someone. I remember the same criticism that US pilots got when they would drop bombs and never see their victims and so never had to face killing someone directly.
