The rules are not a secret and the choice is up to all of us to stay or not to stay.

That's false Cog.  The rules were adopted after many of those who were banned had been here for a long time.  What you say asumes that a poster has no attatchment to a site.  No long hours of work to help develop the site.  And then get canned without warning on a whim and a change of rules?  Being part of a board isn't like switching your long-distance operator.  There is a personal commitment and to just cut people off as this admin did ---- even at the same time as admiting he didn't know anything about the board or the people on it ---- well I don't know the details but that's crappy behaviour under almost any conceivable circumstances.  Annie had been posting with some of the people here for, what?  Four,  five years?  So save this bullshit line that pretends taking part here is as impersonal a decision as buying a can of beans.  It isn't.  This is deeply personal.  Anniee's put years in here.  This is a big failure for Dr Evil.  I'm very disturbed at the direction this board seems to have gone in.

At any rate I choose not to stay at this point.  While I have a choice I will exercise it.  Given the number of boards I've been unjustly banned from my decision is pretty much dictated for me.  Anything less would be hypocrisy.

I'm inclined to quit the board in protest, but I don't actually know what happened and who was shat on last night.  Rather pointless having an ignore feature if the admins will delete posts and deactivate the board, ban people they don't like etc etc all supposedly because of the sort of stuff that the ignore feature covers.

Also there does seem to be a lot of suspicion that the moderator ain't exactly telling the truth here.  Conveniently of course the other side has been banned and is no position to defend themselves.  Then someone who does support them gets cut?  Is this correct?  The user called "Brandy" has been cut?

I'm guessing Anniee was banned.  If that's so I won't be posting either until she is reinstated.

You invaded Iraq after murdering around 2 million Iraqis.  You are currently fighting a colonial war there (and losing it by the way).  US soldiers routinely kill civilians over there and in general Iraqis recognise that they were better off under Saddam, whom they see as little more than a US puppet.  At some point the US will withdraw with its tail between it's legs.  Again.

In what possible sense do you see the US as the good-guys?  Your policy is genoicde and terrorism.  You make Saddam look good by comparison.

They've got one of the murders on video tape.  That would be the incident where the US tank shot into the hotel where the journalists were all staying.  There were the usual contradictory denials and "explanations" at the time and since.  Most revolved around claiming that someone shot at the US first, which the film disproves.

Then there was the assassination of the Al-Jazeera journalist and camera man.  Of course the US has targeted Al-Jazeera before now -- they blew up their offices in Afghanistan.  And in Serbia the US bombed local TV studios too.  All war crimes of course.

War is a messy business?  Almost as many journalists died as US soldiers.

Anyway judging by the low ranking the reporters are not convinced it was a series of "accidents".

The point is that it is the same regime in US as in Iraq so by separating out the two the survey artificially makes the regime look better.   Take North Korea for example - the country listed last.  Let's say almost all of the incidents that earned a bad reputation happened in the country's capital, Pyongyang.  If you came along and artifically divided the incidents into two groups in-capital and out-of-capital and then ignored the in-capital results you'd probably find North Korea had results quite like the US.  One very low (but not bottom) result, and one that looks not too bad.

A former Navy attorney who helped lead the military investigation of the 1967 Israeli attack on the USS Liberty that killed 34 American servicemen says former President Lyndon Johnson and his defense secretary, Robert McNamara, ordered that the inquiry conclude the incident was an accident.

In a signed affidavit released at a Capitol Hill news conference, retired Capt. Ward Boston said Johnson and McNamara told those heading the Navy's inquiry to "conclude that the attack was a case of 'mistaken identity' despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary."

Boston was senior legal counsel to the Navy's original 1967 review of the attack. He said in the sworn statement that he stayed silent for years because he's a military man, and "when orders come ... I follow them."

He said he felt compelled to "share the truth" following the publication of a recent book, "The Liberty Incident," which concluded the attack was unintentional.

Christian Aid says the US is stealing billions of dollars from Iraqi oil --- 80% of the money from the oil that the US has taken is unaccounted for.   Says many of Iraq's poor are worse off than they were under Saddam.

The US got that low number for murdering about a couple of dozen journalists.  If the number of deaths was averaged out I do not think they'd score very well.  But really they should be added together not averaged.  The same administration causes the problems in both countries.

This is an old trick.  Whenever the US wants to make itself sound more democratic the empire's colonies are ignored.   But that's not realistic is it?  America is not a democracy currently for example because millions of people live under military occupation.  America is tilting more openly to being a military fascist state at home too of course, but the fact is tens of millions of people under US rule live in a dictatorship already.

The only reason to consider the mainland-only figures seperately would be if you disregarded the lives of Iraqis or the journalists covering Iraq.
