Basketball Australia stated each national team was allocated a budget, and each leadership group of the team was given the responsibility of how their budgets were to be spent, including travel arrangement expenses
The Opals have never complained about the unfairness of differing travel standards between the teams, but have today spoken out joining an escalating international debate sparked by revelations that the Japanese women's soccer team flew economy to London while their lower-ranked men's team were up front in business.
"I don't think that even matters whether you're in for a medal chance or not. I think if one sex in the same sport, with the same funding...I think it's just fair that they all travel in the same (class)."
National women's soccer and cricket teams are flown economy as a matter of course, while the male teams travel in business. This is despite the fact that the Australian women's soccer team has a higher world ranking than the men's team. So, because the women, in their sphere, are higher ranked they should get better treatment.
Like the Japan's soccer players, our female basketballers have a strong chance of securing gold in London. The Opals have won silver medals at the last three Olympics, but while the men's team have come close, they have never won an Olympic medal.Again.
While the Opals have won silver medals at the last three Olympic Games, won bronze in 1996 and are strong contenders to breakthrough for gold in London, the Boomers have never won an Olympics medal.
"Our Australian basketball teams, the Opals and the Boomers, both play the same game, they're both tall and they are both equally committed to representing Australia at the Games.
"They shouldn't have to travel a different class because they're both world class."
"I'm yet to find a nice answer for it other than they're male and we're female. You'd hate that that's the reason, but I'm sure it is."
. However, what I found out is that even if women jump up and down and cry and scream and reproach men for years afterwards when they have an affair, they often stay with them. But a man very rarely forgives a woman for an affair. What is going on with male sexuality that it is so linked to their identity?
Because we are cultivating violence and repressing sexViolence against women is used as an excuse to justify the percieved patriachal control of women and thier lack of freedom - hence freedom to Bonobo bonk. But as you know about 80% of the vilence in socity is inflicted on males, not females. Logically this should mean that its men who are being controlled by violence not women. Yet women stlll don't Bonobo bonk.
But yes, the adult to child taboo doesn't seem to exist in bonobos other than mother to sonSo we'd all be happier if women were allowed to behave like Bonobos - well if women have even more ability to use sex to manipulate and control men. Yet other Bonobo behaviour like the above quote, well we'll still label you as the predatory plague of society, if you're male. And of course females having sex with everybody they meet isn't predatory either. The self-serving-sexist-hypocracy never ends.
They all claimed Eleana Ramos died from malnutrition or anorexia.
Media Watch can't rule out either - but according to the local investigating Judge in Uruguay, Roberto Timbal, Eleana Ramos died of...
.. 'acute cardiac arrest' - or heart attack ...what the medical forensic said was that the body appeared normal - it wasn't too skinny. The medical forensic told me .. he measured the muscles, the fat, everything like that.
-- Statement from Roberto Timbal to Media Watch
And the judge says her sister Luisel died from the same inherited heart defect.
In Uruguay the national press seemed to have no problem getting the facts right.
Relatives told El País that Eleana Ramos' death was caused by an acute cardiac arrest...This information was confirmed by Judge Roberto Timbal. It was the same cause as that of her sister Luisel's death... It was denied that the cause of death was anorexia ... as some media versions suggested.
