I writing this because I need to write down what I felt. I know most people here don't watch it, or have TV's, etc. You don't need to tell me. This gets past all that.
Obviously V-Day episodes of ANY series normally suck because they have to make the story relevant to the day, even tho it wasn't going that route anyway. This one put all of modern V-Day out for all to see.
My wife and her cousin were watching Glee last night and since I watch it sometimes before V I know the backstory. Im going to give you the cliff's notes version:
1) One of the main guys gets a swelled head because his team won the state champs. Opens kissing booth to kiss chicks.
2) One girl is pissed because, even tho she knows she's a bitch and says it, she hasn't gotten anything for V-Day. And, of course, all men suck. Also, she has her ex and another girl get mono since they're going behind each other's backs! Somehow this girl is immune to catching it since she got it so many times!
3) Another girl, who is mad because her ex-bf just doesn't "forgive" her when she cheated now wants to go unemcumbered into a Broadway singing career.
4) Another girl, who already has a BF wants to go back to her ex-jock-bf and plans to meets up with him after the kissing booth. All of this while her current BF is right there. She shames him for technically getting what her intentions are. And of course, he does nothing about it.
5) THIS?! Oh boy! For some reason the tough guy at he school now has the hots for this 350 lb girl with a bad attitude! He's trying every which way to woo her and she's just stringing him along, including standing him up on a date. Somehow this landwhale has the arrogance of Kardashian proportions, and he just goes along with it!
here's my thing:
6) One girl sings to her bf in the club room and she breaks down crying during the song. I mean, to the FLOOR!
Why does this get me? Because the other 5 scenarios weren't about love, but control and advantage. Which I guess is what the modern V-Day is all about. But you have one case (#6) where she has TRUE feelings for her guy that she can't hold it in. I can't remember the last time I saw that. Hell, I've seen the other scenarios countless times. But to have a girl let it out like that, and not be declared psycho? Not so much.
I really must be starving to see a girl actually care for a guy out in the open.
Btw, the #6 girl? Korean. Go fig.

http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/now_at_nine/fountain-lady%3A-texts,-walks-and-falls-into-fountain%3B-hires-lawyer-to-sueEarlier this week Now@9 showed you video of a woman who fell into a mall fountain because she was texting as she walked.
Now that woman may file a lawsuit. She says she might sue the mall because security guards laughed at her instead of helping. Then somebody posted the video on the Internet.
The woman and her lawyer were on Good Morning America. Read more about her GMA interview here .
You have to laugh but its scary we live in a country where a sane woman thinks this is justifiable!

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2010/09/28/2010-09-28_long_island_woman_uses_car_as_battering_ram_to_escape_from_cops_sparking_frantic.htmlCops thought they had a driver cornered in a Long Island parking lot when she used her car as a battering ram to bounce police cars from her path.
Then, according to cops, the 41-year-old woman nearly ran down several officers late Monday afternoon. That set off a frantic pursuit beginning in Deer Park that ended with her arrest about 11 minutes and several towns away.
"She hit the police cars, pushed them out of the way and kept going," Suffolk County Police Lt. Robert Edwards said.
Mary Quinn, who had been sought on a parole violation, was arrested in North Lindenhurst. She was arraigned Tuesday and was being held on an unspecified amount of bail.
An officer inside one of the cars struck by Quinn's Ford Taurus suffered a neck injury. That officer was hospitalized in stable condition.
It wasn't immediately clear how Quinn violated the conditions of her parole. She has a lengthy arrest record, police said, including busts for robbery, burglary, drugs and car theft.
Police initially stopped Quinn about 5 p.m. for blowing through a stop sign. She peeled off in bumper-car style when that cop walked her paperwork back to his squad car.
Authorities charged the Ronkonkoma woman with several crimes and 18 traffic citations. The criminal charges included counts of second-degree assault, for injuring the police officer, and resisting arrest.
ok, lets see. she ran from the cops, crashed into cop cars and narrowly hit them yet she was just 'arrested' and notice how how mug shot is completely perfect. if this were a guy he would've been shot into swiss cheese while still in the car. we've had men riddled with bullets for simply running away from cops. also, Sean Bell was shot to death for allegedly doing the same exact thing that this woman did.
this makes no sense and I dare someone to rationalize this.

http://www.dfw.com/mld/startelegram/news/local/6508704.htmI don't know what to say. The excuse was "sudden passion", so the sentence got reduced from life to four years. There are people who get 5 to 10 for stealing and life for rape. Uh oh, there goes that word again, comments Dan?
I think "crimes of passion" only goes one way.

What I thought would happen did. Instead of trying to understand my position by reading posts, some people have been trying to undercut them by slanting the words to make them look bad. One of my first posts was rebutted by Alicia saying I'm whining. Another, which was a response to Renegade's was answered by Anniee saying I'm disillusioned. I wonder if these two have thoroughly read them or they're just looking for stuff to pick out and vent on. Heaven forbid I respond to Dan Lynch's post on the right to rape. I personally don't agree with anybody having a right to violate but I see his point on at least addressing the fact that it seems that one of man's fundamental drives (i.e. sex) has to be condoned by women but women's fundamental drives (i.e. security) does not need men's consent and she has every right to attain her security by whatever means she sees fit. Its an in-your-face topic Dan, I know you don't condone rape, because it could happen to your sister, cousin or daughter.
What goes on is that men are easily categorized by their action or views. You don't believe in chivalry? You're a sexist pig. Rape shouldn't be held as high as murder? You're a wannabe rapist. Don't want to spend $300 on a first date? You're cheap! Funny enough though, things women do are perfectly acceptable, just don't call them on it. A woman only wants to date rich guys? She's NOT EXACTLY a goldigger. A woman likes only tall men? She's NOT EXACTLY shallow. A woman likes to conflict with every point? She's NOT EXACTLY argumentative. There's always some other convenient euphamism to loophole woman's behavior, while men are just "acting stupid."
For the women who are here, I appreciate you being on this forum because you want to hear the other side. If you don't like what I say, fine. I'll never call your responses stupid if I don't agree with them. I check man-hating sites as well and I see the bile that comes out of them. If I respond with that attitude it'll just confirm the views they've had all along. Or If I DO agree with them they wouldn't respect me because I'd sound like a sellout.
Both genders have been hurt so I'm not going to go into some kind of contest. Things will be said here that some people will not agree with, and you have the right to respond. As long as its respectful I welcome it.

I'v eheard a lot of people around forums like this talking about XTina's new song about encouraging women to be whores. Songs like this are part of an ever increasing number of songs "empowering" women to act like the worst in men.
What I've also noticed is that love songs sung by men are obviously aimed toward women, but love songs by women have become mysteriously ambiguous. This is scary to me because in this age of seemingly rampant female bi-sexuality and lesbianism a love song can go either way.
But any songs by women about revenge or dumping is obviously aimed at men. You'll hear it in the lyrics. There's no mistake who the target is in those songs.
I don't listen to "pop radio" stations much because of this growing trend. I'd hate to think the only energy expended by women to men in the realm of music is to spout loathing.
Any thoughts?

Hello all. I've read the posts here for quite some time and I thought it was time to have an identity here.
I think its time for men to have a voice. Little by little men's pain has been silenced. We're playing the game of life with a narrower field and more contradictory rules. Its come to the point where its better to stand still than to move, because it looks like whatever a man decides to do it is the wrong thing.
I'm not ashamed about being a man and I'm not ashamed about liking (and loving) women but I do feel I'm not able to be myself due to the chance of my upsetting this matriarchal establishment.
And I hope more women champion the cause, because unlike what most feminists want you to believe, MEN did help women gain independence and personal freedom.
Thanks
P.S. How do I get my own personal avatar to work? Can't find any info in the FAQ.
P.P.S Hiya Amber, told ya I'd sign up. Boy that was a good BBQ!!
