You are really good at finding interesting news David.

Here is a good source for interesting links (It starts in Swedish - but I think you could understand most of it)

To be banned or not to be banned - that's the question?

To David ;)

Shall I compare thee to a summer´s day?
Thou art more lovely and more tempurate,
Rough winds do shake the darlings buds of May,
And summer´s lease hath all too short a date.
Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm´s
And every fair from fair sometimes declines,
By chance, or nature´s changing course, untrimm`d,
Butthy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow´st,
Nor shall Death brag thou wand´rest in his shade
When in eternal lines to time thou grow´st.
So long as men can bresth or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee

Naked aggression IS the American way for any person trying to look at it objectively!

I wonder when the majority of the American people recognize that they live in a state threats other nations? Could it be because of their isolation that so many don't see it?

I could agree on their rights to their country - however terrorism is never right.

It was a little too much a happening that looks like a thought that North Korea came in focus right now. US does maybe want a number of possible targets --- which one is likely to become number three? Iran?

"the best and most disciplined army at his time" ... yeah - probably - as he was so successful.

Stefan - tell me about famous Romanian authors ... I think I have read a few and liked them much.

Could someone named something like Jordan Radichkov be from Romania? - or perhaps I mess up the name completely.

... I am fascinated for your admiration of Gustav II Adolf. He robbed a lot in central Europe - a fate for those treasures that made them safe in Sweden during the Napoleon war and the world-wars. We have a magnificent castle called Skokloster filled with treasures. We also have the Codex Argentus here in Uppsala. (You ought to come here David).

However - not all US christians are (luckily enough) war-mongers

... not even Bush's own church

Your post is VERY VERY frightening and I think it tells a lot about the lunacy in several religious movements

... what is the worst - suicide bombers believing they will come to heaven or presidents trying to start harmageddon ...

... actually I think the last. Normally it would be enough to send anyone to an mental hospital!

(Read this though David http://www.markfiore.com/animation/whoops.html )

It tells a lot (of course).

All the Nobel prizes except for the Peace prize are Swedish - the Peace price is given in Oslo. Sweden and Norway were in a union until 1905 (do I think it was) - when we split peacefully.

Alfred Nobel was Swedish and the inventor of Dynamite

http://www.nobel.se/

Alfred Nobel was born in 1833 in Stockholm, Sweden to a family of engineers. His family was descended from Olof Rudbeck, the best-known technical genius of Sweden's 17th century era as a great power in northern Europe. At age 9, he moved with his family to Russia where he and his brothers were given first class education in the humanities and natural sciences by private teachers

Nobel invented dynamite in 1866 and later built up companies and laboratories in more than 20 countries all over the world. A holder of more than 350 patents, he also wrote poetry and drama and even seriously considered becoming a writer.

The idea of giving away his fortune was no passing fancy for Nobel. Efforts to promote peace were close to his heart and he derived intellectual pleasure from literature, while science built the foundation for his own activities as a technological researcher and inventor.

On November 27, 1895, Nobel signed his final will and testament at the Swedish-Norwegian Club in Paris. He died of a cerebral haemorrhage in his home in San Remo, Italy on December 10, 1896.

In many situations Romania is included in the European cooperation - for instance in the ESF (European Science Foundation). However - I would like to have Romania included completely in EU - and Turkey - by time ... the reason they were not given any time limits is because of their problems with human rights.

However - they have abolished death penalty in Turkey (just to remind the US people that their nation does NOT qualify for EU).

I think it would be great if also northern Africa would be dragged into the European cooperation. And by time Russia.

... we must appreciate him for his efforts to negotiate - I think it was a good choice of the Norwegian Nobel committee right now!

... I don't think she got the fun in your comment ...

I think the Europeans are doing pretty well on their own. I am VERY happy about the new enlargement of EU - and hopefully even more states will join in the future.

The GOOD thing with EU is that the states ARE different and as I think want to REMAIN different. Thus EU will be the constant negotiating and a very slow machine - unsuited for warfare (does anyone think that I think that it is bad ... no..)

What we need to do IMO is to have more of immigration into EU - and enlarge it even more.

... just to inform Amber ... right now we are about 385 millions of people within EU compared to the about 270-80 millions in US (I hope I am right on that). After the enlargement 2004 we will be 450 millions in EU. If another number of nations comes into EU a little later we will soon approach twice the population of US.

BTW - there will be an EU chat with an invitation for all citizens from Valerie Giscard d'Estain at the 28th of october. The aim is to give an opportunity to put forward our points of view and to raise questions on the institutional and legal structures of the European Union.

more information about the european convention is here

Maybe EU will be a fairly democratic organization after all ...
