Personally, I'd rather outwit the misandryst. Instead of playing by their rules by printing anti-girl slogans on shirts I'd rather see something on the line of boy empowerment.

Something like-

"Boys are SMART - They know how to throw rocks back"

Maybe have a picture of a boy next to a large catapult lobbing a small boulder at an unseen enemy....

Yep. Most people will choose the path of least resistance. They will do exactly what i sneeded to achieve a result and not much more. And
since not much is needed to achieve anything in today's public school system, our kids are learning to believe that they are entilted to much for very little effort.

I was at my local Game Stop checking out some software the other day and overheard two of the employees talking about this. They were both young men who were also taking classes at Western Washington University. ( And we all know what the overwhelming political orientation of todays academia is--Liberal Democrat/Feminist for those who were sleeping)
One was bashing Bush for spending money on the space program. The other agreed saying the money should be spent on Education. With all that money in Education, we'll achieve space dominance anyway because of all the supersmart Americans we educated will invent superior space propulsion systems and whatnot...

I kid you not. This is what they said.

America has already thrown billions and billions of $ at Education and has not managed to improve the education of it's citizens. If anything the educational institutes, both public and private, are in the majority worse than they ever were.

It said I'm a manly man. I never considered myself a manly man.

Just practical...

Intuition and emotion are indeed two distinct operations of the human mind. They are, however, usually deeply entangled in one another.
Your emotions can influence how you recieve and percieve your gut impresions. On the flip side, your perceptions can influence how you end up feeling about someone or something.

This is why men distrust their intuitions and women embrace them.

As we mature we get better at the juggling act that is our minds.

On a similar note to juggling act. Why do people have mental breakdowns?

One unasked for ball too many tossed into your mental juggling act. And you may have been a poor juggler to begin with.

Nice article. Although, like many things in life, it's a little more complicated than that.
I used to be much more logical when I was younger. Now I will have an intuitive feeling and I will evaluate it instead of dismissing it outright.
Where did this feeling come from? What is it trying to tell me? Is it relevant to the situation?

If I had listened to my intuition (and some of my friends) I would have never married that dreadful girl. LOL.

Most young boys and men try to look at everything in a logical manner and learn to manage and allow some emotional color as they age.

For young girls and women, the opposite is true. They tend to 'feel' and react emotionally and learn to manage and not  allow emotion to rule over logic as they age.

As always, there are exceptions.

Unfortunatey today's education system is training boys to disregard their natural tendacy to manage their emotions.

Actually Amber, from that one post I can now better understand where your coming from. I can, to an extent, understand and sympathize. That doesn't mean you should completely close yourself to the occasional bit of constructive criticism.

<I know! I know! It's do hard to filter from all the destructive criticism. Life's weird like that.>

On another note- I find your Objectivist worldview to be an interesting filter. But I'll admit I am pretty much ignorant as to what it's all really about.

The only -ist I adher to is that of being an Individual Realist.

Or was that Real Individualist....

Ack! Whatever.....

Also, I like your almost subtle insinuation I am a leftist.  :D

How about this then-

I KNOW your wrong.

But I don't hold it against you. I see alot of potential in you, Amber.

Keep up the good fight.

Hey, it was just my opinion.  :)

Sometimes opinions are round about ways of making suggestions.

As the saying goes : Opinions are like A**holes, everyones got one.

And just because someones got one doesn't mean you want to smell it.

Amber, I like much of your writing. I'm just trying to offer some constructive criticism. Try not to be thin skinned about it.  :)

I never said that this particular article was one of those gems of wisdom that young people sometimes hit upon.

I am thinking that more people would agree with Amber's articles if she changed the way she words some things. She tends to put things in the perspective that this is the way things ought to be, as oposed to wording things more in the line of 'In my opinion such and such would be more likely to happen if more people behaved in such and such manner.'

But...thats just my opinion.  8)

Good God, girl! You started something with this thread.

All I'm gonna say is I agree with some of your articles and disagree with others.
From what I can gather by reading what the others post about you, when it comes to the people that disagree with your posts you seem to have a closed mind and an unwillingness to concede they might be right.
Even partially.
There are legitimate reasons many men have the opinions that they do.

Now....y'all continue as you were....

This reminds me of a speaker I had at a conference I was at earlier this year.

He basicaly said that he doesnt help people for the sheer sake of helping people.
No!
His motives were purely selfish.
He helps people because it makes HIMSELF feel good.

People will not help others unless they get something out of it in return. Whether that be money, land, power, a favor, warm fuzzies.
Security.
It's human nature.

I love watching a post subject spiral into an out of control tangent.

LOL  :D

Amber is young. Yes. But I doubt anyone here can say that they had never said something when they were young(er) that they now believe differently.

Also, just because you are young does not mean that everything you say is automatically wrong. I have heard many a young person make wise comment on a situation that I would have never expected from the usual representative of that age group.

And now back to your regularly scheduled Bashing......

In the circles I keep (kept?) we considered 'damaged goods' to be in reference to a divorced guy (or sometimes gal).

I prefer to think of myself as having been Tempered by the Fires of Relationship Hell

As for 'practice' at sexual prowess, I did most of my practice with one woman.

I had a couple of purely sexual relations after the divorce, but they felt hollow. So I gave up any sort of sexual relations until I find the right one.

I am not going to tell you how long I have been without now
