Malecare.org: Please tell Congress to Save the CDC Prostate Cancer Program

President Obama's fiscal year 2016 budget eliminates all funding for the Centers for Disease Control prostate cancer program. Congress has the power to protect the CDC Prostate Cancer program. We ask for your advocacy to protect this life saving program.

Letters, e-mails are effective ways to tell your representative that funding for Prostate Cancer programs matters to you.

There you will find a sample letter, which you are welcome to copy. Representatives hear from very few prostate cancer survivors and family members so your letter will be surprisingly powerful.

The national men's cancer survivor support and advocacy nonprofit organization, Malecare, protests against the proposed elimination of funding for prostate cancer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in America. Almost 30,000 American men die from prostate cancer every year.  And, twice as many African American men die from prostate cancer as do white men. Incredibly, the 2016 President's Budget request would eliminate prostate cancer funding at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The FY 2016 budget request eliminates the entire $13,200,000 budget for prostate cancer activities. While the evidence on prostate cancer screening remains unclear, CDC has conducted extensive research on and developed materials to help doctors and other health providers better communicate with their patients about informed decision making related to prostate cancer screening and treatment. The proposed elimination will not impact CDC's ability to collect data on national prostate cancer incidence through the National Program of Cancer Registries, nor hinder the ability to share resources and lessons learned.

Main / Open Post to Certain Men from Linkedin
Jan 19, 2015, 12:22 PM
I found this hostile anti-male post on LinkedIn recently from a woman who is horribly indignant that three men were interested in her.  OK, so maybe LinkedIn isn't the best place for men to contact women in this way, but this woman ignores the fact that men are in the position where they're supposed to take the initiative.  And there's no evidence they stalked or harassed her after the initial message:

"WARNING"

What you are about to read is for real. No names or countries will be mentioned to protect the many innocent men and countries from all over the world. If you are a good man with respect, integrity, good manners, good values, good morals and are sincerely wanting to network with like minded people and professionals, this post is not for you and I recommend you stop reading now.

If you choose to continue reading, you must click "like." By clicking "like," you agree not to feel insulted, think this post is about you, and finally, that I am targeting you.

Read at your own discretion.

Dear Men from Linkedin,

What's up guys! I am truly worried about you. I did not know that your dating situation was at a critical stage. I am so sorry. I understand that the economy is bad all over the world, but never in my wildest dreams did I think it would come to this: THE END OF MILLIONS OF DATING SITES THAT ONCE THRIVED ALL OVER THE NATIONS!!

I thought dating sites were solid and that the demand was there. Again, I am so sorry. I did not know that the women from all of the dating sites were taken. It would make sense why you transitioned to Linkedin to find companionship and casual women to date or perhaps scam.

Last week, I received three messages from men telling me I was very beautiful and if I skyped. It made me feel so sad. Now, I do get messages from honest men properly thanking me for accepting me into my network, but I am not talking about them. Those men are content and busy with their professional lives, but your messages made me sad and I am sorry I never responded to you. But, I would like to respond to you now in this open post and I hope you like it:

LINKEDIN IS NOT A DAMN DATING SITE. IT IS A PLACE TO NETWORK WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE AND PROFESSIONALS. IF YOU WANT TO GET "LUCKY" OR HAVE A WOMAN SEND YOU $25,000.00 IN A CEREAL BOX, GET A REAL JOB AND GET YOUR ASS TO WORK. DON'T MESS WITH ME FELLAS, I CAN BE A BITCH WHEN I HAVE TO BE.

I wish you all the luck in the world and may all your dreams come true!

Best Regards, and with peace and love in my heart,

Mimi McClelland

MSN has posted an article about the 5 worst states for women, comparing different "wage gaps".  Article here:

One thing about the endless discussion of "sexual harassment" as portrayed in the mainstream media is that it's almost always portraying men as undesirable lechers making unwanted sexual advances/comments to women who don't want them.

There is another side to this issue though. That is, men are also given a "societal expectation" to form relationships with women (it's part of "manning up and being mature etc.") AND that they are expected to take the initiative. The fact that it's often difficult to gauge women's level of interest as to whether a man's attention is wanted or unwanted adds to the difficulty for men

Can you see the conflict here?

Young men - indeed men in general - are caught between a rock and a hard place in that if they don't show an interest in women and take any initiative with them (beyond the business at hand), then they're unable to form relationships with such women, and are ridiculed as "lacking maturity", "being gay", and so on.

But if they do decide to pursue women and misinterpret their level of interest (which is quite easy to do), then they're committing "sexual harassment" or "stalking" and so on. Then they can lose their job, be sued or arrested, and generally alienate themselves from their peers.

Yet I've seen little to no discussion of the "reasonable man's" perspective in the mainstream media regarding this. But I think it's quite relevant to men.

Note: I'm not talking about more serious forms of sexual harassment, or denying/condoning it's occurrence between men and women. For example, the boss who says to his secretary "Sleep with me if you want to keep your job" or the employee that continues to show a romantic/sexual interest in a woman long after she made it clear she isn't interested. Such examples would indeed be sexual harassment (without quotes), which I'm not condoning. And yes, as we've discussed on SYG numerous times, in can be done by women to men in a workplace/educational setting (though the mainstream media tends to overlook of excuse that, as we've also discussed).

In Yahoo Answers, I found the topic "Why do men mature later than women?"  Some of the answers were decent but the last one was so absurd and misandric that I laughed for a few minutes:

There is a cars.com commercial in which a man meets his date at a table and says his passion is puppetry.  He proceeds to pull out a puppet that looks just like the woman and starts kissing it.  The woman is weirded out and abruptly leaves.  Somehow this portrayal of a man on a date as a creepy stalker is supposed to be funny and sell cars as well.

Here is the commercial:

First Date - Funny Cars.com TV Commercial

Supposedly some people think this is funny and represents how men approach women (in an extreme way, perhaps).  I think it's a demeaning representation of men.  What do you think?

There is a petition to the White House to classify the Men's Rights Movement as a terrorist group.  The petition is slanderous and horribly wrong regarding the Men's Rights Movement and MRA's.  It goes on to state that the mass murders committed by Marc Lepine and Elliot Rodger were inspired by MRA's and puts the suicide of Tom Ball in the same category as well (yet again, horribly wrong).

This petition is so appalling that it's almost beyond words, and does a terrible disservice to the Men's Rights Movement which has sought fair treatment of men and boys.

Here is a link to the petition:

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/classify-mens-rights-movement-terrorist-group/W5018W63

Here is the text of the petition:

"We petition the Obama administration to:

Classify the Men's Rights Movement as a terrorist group

The Men's Rights Movement (MRM) is a misogynistic movement that advocates violence against women and girls.

Multiple members of the MRM--self identified Men's Rights Activists (MRAs)--have committed atrocities and mass murders. Marc Lepine killed 17 women on a university campus in the "Montreal Massacre". Tom Ball firebombed a courthouse and wrote a manifesto encouraging others to bomb government buildings that is posted on major MRM websites like avoiceformen.com. Elliot Rodger, an active MRA, shot and killed at least 7 young women and injured many other people at random. Rodger is being celebrated as a martyr and hero by the movement, which will likely cause other MRAs to emulate his crimes.

This is what the MRM does and action must be taken against them to protect women and girls."

Article here:

http://www.livescience.com/45270-divorce-risk-serious-illness.html

Some misandristic woman named Kathy J. Bell left a very bigoted comment underneath the article, if anyone cares to respond. It's a masterpiece of ignorance and anti-male hostility.

Quote
Kathy J. Bell · Top Commenter · Engineer/Owner at Bell Environment Engineering of Texas

The research got the facts correct but then made assesments on non factual data.

Women initiate divorce 65% of all divorces. When a woman is ill and she is married to a typical ego centered male, she no longer has the energy to waste on an adult child.

This author instead of looking at the reality of the findings, imposed the view that relationships are strictly based on sex and women need men.

The findings should have addressed

1) Men's inability to care for anyone but themselves
2) the uselessness of a human that is self involved
3) Women seeing the uselessness of having a Man around when she is ill.

Instead the researcher talked about how others take care of her and how much it costs even after stating the FACT that it is women who initiate the divorces not MEN. AND divorced and widowed women do not seek out another male relationship (they don't seek out marriage) because they found marriage to be oppressive.

"A new burial area for lesbians only is being inaugurated this weekend in a two-century-old cemetery in the German capital.

A 400-square-meter (4,300-square-foot) area of the Lutheran Georgen Parochial cemetery, established in 1814 in central Berlin, will be reserved as a graveyard for up to 80 lesbians, said Usah Zachau, a spokeswoman for the Safia association, a national group primarily for elderly lesbians.

The association said it had created a burial area to be inaugurated Sunday, as a space "where life and death connect, distinctive forms of cemetery culture can develop and where the lesbian community can live together in the afterlife."

It's ironic that the so-called gender wage gap is greatest in rich places like Beverly Hills and least in poor places like Indian Reservations.

Women earn 64 cents on the dollar compared to men in Beverly Hills.  For the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation it's 90 cents.
So men earning more than women says nothing of how the money is spent or who benefits from it.

An even more extreme case is Buffalo County, SD, which has the lowest per capita income in the U.S.  Women there earn $1.05 to the dollar compared to men.  This county is mostly the Crow Creek Indian Reservation, and is largely a matriarchy.  Many houses lack kitchens and indoor plumbing.

In contrast, Rancho Santa Fe is a wealthy enclave in San Diego County.  Women there earn 58 cents to the dollar for men.
Rancho Santa Fe has the second highest per capita income in the U.S. and the typical house is over 2 million dollars.  The women living there can hardly be described as suffering from the so-called wage gap.

So, high gender wage gap here http://www.bcre.com/images/rancho-santa-fe-real-estate_720_01.jpg ... vs. women earning more here http://perc.org/sites/default/files/field/image/Am%20Ind%20Res%20NM_0.jpg ...

Where are women better off?  And where are they more likely to be a victim of violence?  Where are children - or men for that matter -  better off?

Of course, these examples are anecdotes from the extremes of wealth and poverty in the United States and correlation doesn't imply causation, but is likely related to something else.  In these cases, the wealthy enclaves are an example of the success of free markets and property rights, while the poor Indian Reservations an example of historic injustice compounded by a lack of property rights.  A more comprehensive study would result in a graph of locations in the United States comparing the gender wage gap to per capita income.   There would likely be a lot of scatter in such a graph, but it would be interesting to see what the overall correlation is.  And the causes of the correlation would probably be complex and nuanced.

But it would likely refute the feminist assertion that women are oppressed by the so-called wage gap that they keep touting.

This woman shot and killed 4 people at an Indian tribe headquarters last week after she and her son were evicted from the reservation.  Warning: her mug shot is scary.

This Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 photo released by Alturas Police Department shows Cherie Lash Rhoades. Rhoades, suspected of killing four people at the headquarters of an Indian tribe that was evicting her and her son from its land, had been under federal investigation over at least $50,000 in missing funds, a person familiar with the tribe's situation told The Associated Press on Friday.

Annie Meyer murder: Melissa Miller pleads guilty to 2nd degree murder, faces up to 20 years

Posted: 11/27/2013
Last Updated: 3 hours ago

Nine months after LeAnn "Annie" Meyer disappeared from her Wheat Ridge home, her roommate, Melissa Miller, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Park County court.

The plea deal stipulates a 20 year sentence plus five years of mandatory parole for Miller.

Miller also agreed to pay restitution to Meyer's family and friends.

"Today is all about Annie getting the justice that Annie deserves," said Margaret Coughlan, one of Annie's friends gathered in a small hotel room in Fairplay on Tuesday.

Friends and family traveled from all over the country to Park County because it is where Annie's remains were found last July after months of searching.

"We didn't want to go through a trial," said Pat Meyer, Annie mother. "We just felt that she [Miller] has lied about so many things that if we had a trial, maybe a juror would believe some of her lies."

"Ten days before we found my sister's remains, I was with Miller. And she lied and she fake cried," Mark Meyer, Annie's brother said Wednesday.

The judge sentenced Miller in today's hearing as well.

Pat Meyer said she didn't think 20 years in prison is enough, but it is the best they could hope for.

"Melissa, you have taken Annie away from us," Pat Meyer said in court Wednesday. "How could anyone be so evil?"

"I hope you suffer for what you have done, and I will never forgive you," Pat Meyer said.

"When it's time for her parole eligibility I want Ms. Miller to look at the people around because we will all be here," Mark Meyer said.

"If she gets out she will do it again," said Mark Meyer. "We want you to lock her up and throw away the key."

After Meyer's family and friends spoke, Miller's supporters had their turn.

"This group of friends is always fighting and stealing each other's girlfriends," said Maris Paris, Miller's sister.

"She is not a killer," said Miller's friend Julie Cesa. "I love her to death. She is not a monster or a psycho."

At that point, a friend of Meyer said, "She pled guilty." The judge demanded quiet in the courtroom.

"The saddest part was having taken Annie's life, she persisted in spending Annie's money, for no other reason than to spend it at the casinos," said District Attorney Kathy Eberling.

The judge accepted the plea agreement and gave Miller credit for the 135 days she has served since July 16.

This is a sad story that shows that lesbians aren't necessarily free from violence against women, contrary to what feminists would have you believe.
