Feministing is a blog for profit, only idiots read that crap and swallow it whole anyways. Don't waste your time on something that is simply reactionary. Use your energies to write things that demonstrate originality, vitality and creativity without regards to what the cows over there are doing.

I'm sure there's some great stuff in this thread, but who the hell is going to read all of that? We live in a soundbite culture and when I talk to people IRL or on message board, I keep that in mind.

the Conservative types that I speak of that IMO are no more friendly to men than the liberals are, are the moral majority/values voter types.
I remember back in 2003 both feminists and a local baptist church were campaigning for the shut down of topless bars in SE Ft Worth. I dont know if they were actively co-operating or not.
Also, as I have said in the past, I consider the border to be a men's issue also and the republicans havent exactly done american men right on that one.
But I do understand you're point Gonz. At least with rightists, mens voices are allowed to be heard.

Everyone pretty much knows about the "last lecture" guy from his youtube videos. I wonder why he thinks that his legacy would be best preserved by naming a sexist female only scholarship in his honor? Would it be in poor taste to e-mail him and ask?
In light of the current situation with boys and college graduation rates, it just doesn't make much sense.
Thoughts?
Edit: He stated how much he values the truth and straight talk no matter how socially unacceptable in an interview with Diane Sawyer, so I emailed him about and asked his motivations in a tasteful way. I'll post any results in here...
