i really like that one, the last stanza is excellent. a nice concept, needs some tidying up with the language and structure to make it flow more. i shall provide some constructive critisism if i may...
Over the years the larger I grew the smaller the box became
until the day I could no longer remain inside
for the world I wanted to explore and experience
the person who was me I needed to discover on my own
explore and experience seem out of place in what reads as a very simplistic verse. adding the "for the" before and reversing the structure seems too pretentious.
Afraid that I would fail to fulfill their plans for me
my world they attempted to constrict
thinking they could control me in this manor
even as they were attacking and destroying one another
this is the one stanza that sticks out as being wooly and without making a clear point, surley the destruction of your parents relationship could be better expressed than attacking and destroying one another.
Disappointed their hearts saddened and burdened
sorry if this is a liitle nick-picky but burdened seems abit innacurate, in reality they are loosing you, not gaining a burden, unless its somthing im missing.
just a bit of critisism to stoke those poetic fires

hey! im an MRA and ive never been though anything like that, never had kids, never had a wife, dont own a house or a car even!
my mother is very much the most important support in my life, and a rediculously nice person, i couldnt wish for a better mum. My dad is unemployed and has been for several years and all the while my mum worked a full time job as a special needs teacher, cooked for two children, and kept the house clean. She disliked sleeping in the same room as my dad so much she has slept in a sleeping bag on the living room floor for the past 10 years. She has always, without exception been there for me.
My dad in contrast is unemployed and has been for a while, he was missing for vast periods in my childhood because he was off travelling. He hoardes all his own money in a seperate bank account which mum, me, and my brother never see. He even buys seperate food at the supermarket for himself, and keeps it in a seperate cupboard. I genuinely prefer life when my dad is absent. (which is often thankfully)
I am keen towards these issues because i can see them to be of great importance, not because of my social background.
[Edit] that was in reply to Dave the poet, and is more of a vent than a critisism, sorry Dave, im loving the poetry btw.

I am pretty sure that plates/rings and such things are just a cultural thing, and when faced with a beautiful large breasted white woman, these tribesmen would be amazed, since they never saw something like that before. And yes, they will be, nature will do its job.
Their culture just has a very underdeveloped concept of female sexual attractiveness.
please tell me you are joking here LST. right?[/i]

nah, i dont go along with that myth. the vagina is not some complex puzzle, and the penis some simple toy that works after enough friction. excuse my frankness, but its a hole, the clitoris is just a really small penis that hasent been exposed to testosterone. Same tissue, same basic system of orgasm.
men may "come" faster in general because of the effect testosterone has on their brain and penis.

i think the most important thing is that males are often attractive because of status, power, or ability. Females are seen as "worthy" i.e deserving of a capable male i.e attractive when they meet a set of arbitary criteria.
This criteria differs greatly throughout cultures and timeperiods. In some tribes its lip plates (the bigger the plate the more attractive she is) in our culture its big boobies (hehe) and a nice face. In others its how many rings there is on her neck. Men are not measured in this way, because theyre role can be measured by pre-existing measures i.e money. wheras women are constantly measured on this somewhat rediculous basis.
just somthing to chew on

just abit off topic here: Are any Brits here aware of the recent beer ad appearing on bus stops, that shows a woman holding her pint under another females busom to shade it from the sun on a warm day. surely the only reason this woman is a female is because it is impossible for them to show a man doing this, through fear of a backlash.
this is the same company that changed an ad showing a man using a woman to shield his beer from the sun in an advert after she offered to sleep with him, and changed it (after an outcry) to the situation being resolved by the woman kicking the man in the balls for declining her offer.
Disgusting :?

Look here see,
if you've got a hold you're a female, if you've got a pole you're a male. Sex is that simple, and has no relation to anytype of behaviour, it is simply what you have between your legs.
now hormones, you've got a whole different kettle of fish there.

i was reading a book on how the gender's brain's differed. in the first section of the book it showed a brain scan of a womans brain whilst she absorbed language, it explained that her female brain was full of active areas and therefore was highly suited to language skills and better at it. They then showed a male brain glow as a man absorbed language. Less areas of the brain were being used so the male barin was weaker at absorbing language.
a few chapters later the book showed me the same brain test, just this time the person was looking at pictures instead of words. The book then explained that the female brain used far less areas than the male one, and showed a picture of a brain where very few sectors were being used. this was then compared to a mans brain looking at the same thing, where we saw huge numbers of sectors lit up and therefore in use. The book then proceeded to explain that this showed that the female brain was better suited to the task than the male one, because it had to work less hard at absorbing the picture and used less of the brain.
ok ok... so lemme get this straight i thought, and then logic escaped me.

male traits were buried because they are the stumbling ground for successful corporate growth.

now they can just match dads up with mums (given the recent thread on here about how much a mum should earn a year), add that to the yearly income of each parent, and viola! and economic value of each gender as a parent

youre right, but their is an issue you're missing.
Many people are oppose to the sweatshops, not because of the labour and low rates of pay (this is better than nothing after all). But for the child labour used in them. Child labour is harmful and crippling for countries. It prevents education of a new generation and repetition of the high birth rate, low death rate trend that causes famine, drought, undemployment, homelessness, and a low-skilled workforce. Children must be in school and kept out of work for Africa to succeed.
This is my major issue with Nike and Gap.
