Main / A feel good moment

Yeah I have to agree there.  Liquid Sunshine isn't a feminist, but she does call herself one so as to whether she is one or not depends on how you definition of "is" goes.

I'm not going to try and analyse why I like women. :)

Main / Why was Uhura Banned from SYG?

Is the idea here that the person being insulted is objecting?  Or that some people object even if it is a third party being insulted?

If the former then I would not feel good about someone being reprimanded for just flaming me.

Who's this Uhura chick? :)
Is it someone we know or are they all just using the same anonimiser?

Hmm...
You know you might just be right about Radfem being Butterfly.  They both seem to work for the same newspaper in California.  Coincidence...???  Let's say I am suspicious.  Of course I could be jumping to conclusions....

They could be twins  :1luvu:

What's the joke?
Earth to be destroyed by asteroid ; women and children particularly effected

This real article's title is actually worse!  "Women work the hardest" !?!?
This isn't even Orwellian.  It's simply blindness.

Oh rabble banned me a year or two ago --- still ask me for money every now and then though

My favourite feminist, Kelly, put me on to them (she's Canadian).
Ooops.  Apart from Butterfly of course!

Main / Which Netwarrior are you?

My usual identification : Godzilla
http://www.winternet.com/~mikelr/flame67.html

Quote
It was a peaceful and productive forum; lively, congenial and a bounteous source of useful information. Then one day, completely without warning, Godzilla arose from the depths and blew his scalding breath on everything in his path. A phalanx of Warriors mobilized to attack the monster, only to be crushed like so many toy tanks under Godzilla's mighty feet. Godzilla soon reduced the forum to searing and consuming flames. Just as abruptly, he rumbled back beneath the waves, leaving all to tremble in fear of his return. Net life would never be the same.

It's medieval alright, but they've targeted a victim who has money this time.  Not some helpless guy with no education or money or lawyers.  These laws routinely breach the US constitution's protections and all they require is a case to be brought by some man with the resources to mount a defence against the state's currupt power.

Bryant's case is also going to call into question the knee-jerk prejudice that most other men face because of his popularity.

So what's been happening here?

Who've we got here?  Any interesting fems?  How many of the old crowd are still here?  What's up with the Ms bunch lately?  Are they open to posting again?

They all resolve to a Korean ip. You can't tell them apart and you can't contact their ISP if there is potential abuse.

Oh I see.  Ok then.
Had to run a board that way myself in the past.  A lot of acrimony caused by too many people with anonimous IDs.  Got bogged down too much in accusations of who was who.

What we do know is that each of those posters comes to the board on the exact same cloaked IP.

I'm confused : if we know they are all on the same IP then what difference does the anonimizer make?  You are saying it would be fine if they all posted from the same IP if the IP wasn't anonimized?

Because we oppose feminism does that automatically make us "masculinists"? Sounds homoerotic to me. To me masculinism is simply the same as feminism.

You got ahead of me Dan!
To use the cake analogy again, if Sunshine joined a club especially for people who think chocolate is good, but cheescake is bad, but then joined another club with precisely the opposite views .... it wouldn't make her unbiased, it would make her a schizophreniac!!

However as you say it's a defence mechanism.  Sunshine has often mentioned she is a feminist since she arrived.  She has never once claimed to be a masculist too.  It's inconceivable she would have not mentioned her "dual loyalty" if that was really how she identified herself.

Besides, masculists are NOT the opposite of feminists any more than the KKK are the opposite of the NAACP.  Masculists do NOT oppress women, but only seek equality, albeit it I agree with you that their approach is subject to abuse.[/quote]

I would if the question had been "why do you pick feminism over masculinism?"

Alrighty then, why do you pick feminism over masculism?
