We're targeting women and their children because men will probably just......
Strangely, there's no mention of what they're doing to reverse that plight of men, and ultimately, if successful, the plight of women and children.
Then again, there's the "Heres some outdated baby formula that's now against the law to sell in first world countries due to questionable ingredents , now do what we tell you to do. Smile for the camera and try to look pathetic, you're going to be on late night television in the West.
Why do I get the feeling that, Like Donald Trump and Wollman(sp?) Skating rink, once the Gates/Buffet charities gather more traction, without "charitable" parasites or "official" managing departments, assigned an "operating expense" at every step before the intended recipient sees a grain, that these charities will become superceded and obsolete on a massive scale. Tangeble and broad results will suddenly be evident, unlike cancer "research" or ANYTHING that the United Way touches.
Next time a group claiming "charitable" intentions asks for cash, ask them to see the spread sheet of disbursments. In the U.S. these must be provided on request or lose tax status. The first time you hear the expression "Er...", walk away-knowing you didn't just buy the tax free, all expenses, vacation to a "trouble spot" for some "charitable" group officer.
Any word yet on how much recovery for the women and children of Hurricane Katrina, or ESPECIALLY the (more affected) women and children victims of the tsunami that hit Phucket have benifited from the millions in personally donated cash, as well as the first world tax funded
"assistance" that could have bought them all Humvees has gone? NO?
Any word on how the (all inclusive) people have had their lives completely
restored ? NO?
How about the ever expanding four star vacation hotels that were merely damaged? I guess the women and children must be living in them by now!
The good news is the labor of restoring New Orleans has commensed. The workmen have begun the cleanup and restoraation. And those newly employed workmen are from........?
There was a "Katrina" drive by the Red Cross in my town. The funds were
to be "specificly for aid the victims of hurricane Katrina in New Orleans", if the donor requested it. The Red Cross doesn't work that way, but due to
fraud by other National, and ESPECIALLY- world "charities" (UN comes to mind) this provision is law. I just handed them a check and said "non-specific". The local volunteers for a day looking to get their picture in the paper (*sigh* OK-whatever it takes!) were instantly confused. The full time Red Cross folk just nodded, grinned, and said thank you, looked at the check and said woooooah....THANK YOU!
(Well, I had to get SOME sort of self serving ego boost vainglory out of this story ;))
The Red Cross is one of precious few organisations that I'm willing to
support wirth cash. I know how they work. They're not perfect but they're
head and shoulders above the rest. The Salvation Army is another, I know the results of THEIR work first hand, from a time when I had NO reason to brag about much.
