Help  Support  Domestic   Violence   Victims  by   Collecting  Old  Cell  Phones  and  Inkjet  Cartridges

The Domestic Abuse Helpline for Men and Women provides crisis intervention and support services to victims of domestic violence and their families in order to help survivors recover from the trauma of domestic violence.  We work towards the elimination of domestic violence by increasing public awareness and decreasing tolerance of domestic violence through community collaboration and education.  The Domestic Abuse Helpline for Men and Women strives to improve the quality and safety of the lives of victims who are seeking peace in their homes and in their daily existence.

Proceeds from this program will help us continue to provide our valuable services and programs to victims of domestic violence nationwide as well as support our 24 hour helpline.

HOW DO I PARTIPCATE?

Simply contact your Regional Coordinator Jan Brown at: 1-866-786-0758 or email her at: [email protected] to get your groups name added to our list of participants and program details. Then simply use your creativity to set up a collection box or boxes at various locations with information on a flyer explaining what the fund raiser is (flyers will be sent to you by email or regular mail for you to print and attach to the box once you contact us). Collect old cell phones and inkjet cartridges, and mail them in free of charge. It's that simple!

Join us today and help us stop domestic violence!

I  went  to  the   Student  Life  office  to  see  if  I  can  get  these  flyers  up  on  the  walls.    The  lady  who  was  there  told  me  that  she'd  talk  to  the  director   about  it.   I've  danced  this  dance  before.  It's  a waiting  game.

This  project  is  very  dear  to  me.   The  lady  who  runs  the   Domestic  Abuse  Helpline  For  Men  And  Women  is  someone  I  consider  a  friend.   I'd  do  anything  to  help.   DAHMW   has  helped  me  more  than  once.

Anyhow,  spread  the  word,  if  anything.

I  went  to  the   Student   Life  Office   today  and  they  told  me  that  they  can't  post  the   flyers  about   DAHMW  because    Student   Life  apparently  already  has  an   agreement   with   Woman's   Place, a   Brockton-area  shelter   service,   and   that  would  mean  competing  with  them.   Woman's   Place  apparently  is  already  collecting   phones,  or  something.    I  find  this....unsettling.

There  are   other  places   I  can  post  the  flyers,  such  as  the  Library  or   my  Church  but  still....

Any  ideas   ?

I  contacted  the  lady  who  is  the  director  of   The  Boys  Project.   I  told  her  about  the  blatant  discrimination   I  experienced   at  the  Student  Life  Office  today.   She  referred  me  to  FIRE,  an  organization  which  tackles   issues  of  discrimination   legally.  I  am  waiting  to  hear  from  them.

Today,   I  went  to  my  church,   and   gave  the  flyers   to  quite  a  few  men and women  there.   Hopefully,  some  of  them  will  donate  to  DAHMW,  and  someday,  we  might  have  a  shelter  for  male  victims  of  domestic  violence  in  the   USA  !

I  went  to  the  public  library  today  and   posted   lots  of  flyers  about   Domestic  Abuse  Hepline  For  Men  And   Women's  fund  raiser.  The  librarian,  a  lady  I  know,  was   very  cooperative  and  pleasant  !  I  even   left  a  box  where   people  can  drop  their  cellphones.  I  will  pick  it  up  later,  and  hopefully  mail  it  to  the  Director  of   DAHMW.

Thanks,  sir.  I  really  appreciate  it.   Here's  to  hoping   something  good  comes  out  of  it.  Were  I  a   wealthy  philanthropist,  I'd  make  sure  there was  a  DV  shelter for men  in  every  state.   Unfortunately, I'm  not.  No  dwelling  on  what   is  not.   I  focus  on  improving  what  is.

My  efforts   to   inform  people  about   help  for  male  victims  of  domestic  violence   have  borne  some  fruit.   Flyers  were  given  at  my  church  and  also  posted  on  the   library  walls  and  bulletin  boards.   As  usual,  the   school's   Femo-Gestapo    gives   me  the  run-around  about  posting  the  DAHMW   Flyers....

So  I  did  something...different.  I   contacted   The  FIRE,  an  organization  which  tackles  issues  of   discrimination  against  students  legally.   I  wrote  them,  and  they  wrote  me  back.   They  said  that  they're  going  to  have  a  little  chat  with   the  not-so-good  people  at  the   Student   Life  Office  of  my  campus.

I'll  let  you   know  what  happens....

I  went  by  the   Public  Library  today.   The  flyers  about   DAHMW   Fundraiser  are  still  there.   So  is  the   box   where  the  donations  are  supposed to  go.

Yesterday,  I  finally  posted   the   DAHMW   Flyers  on  campus.  I  had  been  discussing  the  discrimination  displayed  against  me  by  the   Student  Life  Office   people of  my  college  campus   with   the  FIRE.
Finally,  after  nearly  two  weeks, they  got   posted.   The  FIRE  may  yet  write  to  them  about  it.

As  for  me,  I'm  just  glad  we'll  be  able  to  reach  some  more  people  with  our  message.

Never   let  it  be  said  that  grass-roots  efforts   can't  yield   great results.

I  have  another  set  of  good  news.    The   law  has  been  changed  and  they  are  allowing   Single-Sex  Classes  in  Public  Schools.  This  means  that   the   Boys   may  get  the  help  they  need and  one day we can  turn  around  this   Crisis  in  Boys   Education  !!!

Should  those  misguided  organizations  (  National  Organization  for  Women  and   the  ACLU)  fight   this  change,  I  intend  to  support  whoever  opposes  them  by  any  means  necessary.

I   don't  like   Misandrists.   I  place  them  in  the  same  category  as  the  Ku  Kux  Klan   and   the   Nazis  of  old  Germany.

Hi blackmanx, I'd just like to concur with TMOTS in regard to your tireless input regarding mens rights and domestic violence awareness. Thanks for all your effort brother.

The internet has been like a lifeboat for mens opposition to the floodings of feminism.

Respect is earned, not automatically attained by virtue of the arrangement of one's genitalia.
--Celtic Druid

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.
