Round and round she goes...where she stops..

Oh wait, she's not going to stop.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

DB, you're off today?  Does this mean you're going to spend your day creating alter egos and spamming message boards all over the net?  Because you know, if Amber says it, it MUST be true.

How many animals are you up to now anyway?  You are a lot of things Mr Byron, but I have to say that any man who can have that many animals in his home has to have a good heart.

Well more likely I'll spend 2 hours going to Tennessee to pick up a dog and then have lunch and watch a movie, which is what we normally do on a Wednesday.

I think there's about a dozen waif dogs and 5 cats and one kitten currently.  Added to our own pets that makes 32.

What's a waif dog?

You have to have some sort of facilities besides your house right?

nebulousone

I think a waif dog is some sort of skinny kind of dog or something.

Waif
(a) A homeless person, especially a forsaken or orphaned child.
(b) An abandoned young animal.

It's just our house.

I always think of waif in the way it's applied to women.  Usually women who are referred to as waifish look as if they could use a steak or two.

... I don't think she got the fun in your comment ...

I think the Europeans are doing pretty well on their own. I am VERY happy about the new enlargement of EU - and hopefully even more states will join in the future.

The GOOD thing with EU is that the states ARE different and as I think want to REMAIN different. Thus EU will be the constant negotiating and a very slow machine - unsuited for warfare (does anyone think that I think that it is bad ... no..)

What we need to do IMO is to have more of immigration into EU - and enlarge it even more.

... just to inform Amber ... right now we are about 385 millions of people within EU compared to the about 270-80 millions in US (I hope I am right on that). After the enlargement 2004 we will be 450 millions in EU. If another number of nations comes into EU a little later we will soon approach twice the population of US.

BTW - there will be an EU chat with an invitation for all citizens from Valerie Giscard d'Estain at the 28th of october. The aim is to give an opportunity to put forward our points of view and to raise questions on the institutional and legal structures of the European Union.

more information about the european convention is here

Maybe EU will be a fairly democratic organization after all ...

I was just about to say "thank's ,Eva, great post ! ",but...
Because I don't live within the boundaries of the European Union, this means I'm not an European ? You should have told me earlier, it would have saved me from the trouble of defending  Europe to Amber.

DavidByron

Well neither the UK not Sweden have the Euro yet, so maybe Eva and I only 3/4 European?  Personally, I think she gets her bad side from the non-European quarter

Turkey is trying to get into the EU and obviously is not European so I don't think anyone would claim they are exactly the same.

In many situations Romania is included in the European cooperation - for instance in the ESF (European Science Foundation). However - I would like to have Romania included completely in EU - and Turkey - by time ... the reason they were not given any time limits is because of their problems with human rights.

However - they have abolished death penalty in Turkey (just to remind the US people that their nation does NOT qualify for EU).

I think it would be great if also northern Africa would be dragged into the European cooperation. And by time Russia.

...while the article linked by Amber was about Europe and its birth rate, not about the European Union. I'm glad you want Romania in the European Union, but I remind you that Europe existed before the European Union existed.

I am an European,I don't care if you think otherwise.

Was it some Rumanian who first used mobile artilery on the battle field about a century before it really caught on elsewhere?  The next person to use mobile artilery usefull was Gustav of Sweden... might have been Hungarian... I'm not sure.

What famous Rumanian's are there?

Eva

... I am fascinated for your admiration of Gustav II Adolf. He robbed a lot in central Europe - a fate for those treasures that made them safe in Sweden during the Napoleon war and the world-wars. We have a magnificent castle called Skokloster filled with treasures. We also have the Codex Argentus here in Uppsala. (You ought to come here David).

?? I don't know about mobile artilery ,maybe it was a Hungarian who used it first :)

  Seriously,

Eva, they told us in the school that Gustav Adolf had the best and most disciplined army at his time ! Too bad he died too soon,he should have kicked Richelieu's ass !]

Eva

"the best and most disciplined army at his time" ... yeah - probably - as he was so successful.

Stefan - tell me about famous Romanian authors ... I think I have read a few and liked them much.

Could someone named something like Jordan Radichkov be from Romania? - or perhaps I mess up the name completely.
