Have any of you learned about sexual assault laws in Colorado?

Read on:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A48194-2003Jul25&notFound=true

And another article: .http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/lakers/2003-08-05-bryant-state-laws_x.htm

I watched something about it yesterday, this article confirms everything the story reported.  It also leaves out a few facts.  The article touches on the testing a convicted sex offender must undergo before a sentence is determined; it refers to a "plethysmograph" test.  What the article doesn't tell you is what's involved in that test.

A band is placed around the penis of the "offender".  He is then shown approximately 20 minutes of sexual images, during which he has to listen to audio recounts of sexual assault victims.  The "test" measures his sexual response; certain responses indicate a person as deviant which then impacts the sentence.  If he's not found to be deviant but does admit his guilt (even though he's pleading not guilty, doesn't that qualify as purgery?) then he faces approximately 20 yrs probation and is registered, permanently, as a sex offender.

The best part?  He won't be able to live with his child until he's "passed certain steps" and "met certain criteria" required by Colorado State.  So even though he's been given probation, he will be unable to live with his child or have any unsupervised time with her until he completes the state required steps.

What good fortune for government that people do not think."

"Where madness rules the absurd is not far away."

We must not make the mistake of thinking that all those who eat the bread of dictatorship are evil from the first; but they must necessarily become evil....The curse of a system of terror is that there is no turning back; neither in the large realm of policies nor the 'smaller' realm of everyday human relationships is it possible for men to retrace their steps."

Buy weapons, lots of weapons.   They are basing these new laws on bogus stastics to begin with.  Who really is benifitting from this hysteria craze?

Sounds like a scene that came straight out of A Clockwork Orange.... Seriously screwed up.

It's medieval alright, but they've targeted a victim who has money this time.  Not some helpless guy with no education or money or lawyers.  These laws routinely breach the US constitution's protections and all they require is a case to be brought by some man with the resources to mount a defence against the state's currupt power.

Bryant's case is also going to call into question the knee-jerk prejudice that most other men face because of his popularity.

Rape is already becoming a solid "beef" in the US prison system.  It's getting to the point that a guy can go into "general population" on a skin charge these days.

Like I said, with all this bullshit, no one is going to give a shit.  Which means the feminists really will achieve their ideal of rape culture.  Kind of ironic.  But it's kind of like that thing with the basket ball.  You imagine yourself nailing a basket is almost as good as actual practice
