The linked video below is of an Australian talk show interviewing a female psychologist who is talking about men's issues.  Damn.

"Men need to be appreciated as providers, fathers, workers, mentors..."

"He needs to be seen as a man in his own right without criticism or insult."

Australia is probably about 20 years ahead of us.  Listen to the way this woman describes men's issues and men's needs and nails what she calls the "viper tongue" that some women use as a form of violence.  Check it out.  I love this woman and the interviewers get kudos for their ability to let her speak and to respond in a compassionate manner.  Damn.  This is really heartening.  There may actually be some hope out there!

Because she's a well spoken, attractive woman. Sad that it has to be a woman bringing this up to be taken seriously. Oh but we're in a evil patriarchal society here in the western world doncha know.

HOLY CRAP! Someone is actually talking about it and NOT BLAMING MEN! She gives straight talk and doesn't try to make this into the guy's fault. AMAZING! Every feminist needs to see this (not that it would do any good).

Of course the argument we will hear is that this is social justice/pay back for things like porn, which BTW over 90% of porn is consensual sex between BOTH parties and women make porn as much as men.

And for clips.. imagine if this were John Claude Van Dam doing this to a bunch of females

This is considered empowerment.

That was like something out of the Twilight Zone. I just assumed the other woman there would quickly jump in and say something about how women have it worse and then focus on that. But she didn't.

That was a breath of fresh air.

I still think that the biggest problem men face in getting heard is the self-appointed chivalrous Big Wheel / self-proclaimed chivalrous alpha male. In other words, other men. Joe Biden is a prime example of a puffed up, brainless Big Wheel.

Work against these A-holes. I have. I am self-employed, and I have absolutely refused to work with those types. Anything legal against them.

This is wonderful, but why is it that when women talk about it people go "Wow, great points, we should do something" etc. but if a man was to give this exact same interview he wouldn't be given nearly the same credibility.

(I'm not normally a glass-half-empty kind of guy, but in this case I am)

Because men's sex role demands that they only be providers and voicing their own needs puts them into a place that appears to be "stealing" resources from women.  The speaker did a fairly good job of explaining that dilemma.  When men speak up about their own needs they are immediately labeled as woman haters or needy and worthless.  This is why we are helped tremendously by women such as this.

Because you just showed how powerless men are to complain. If the guest were a man they would brush him off as a wimpy loser, a man who can't get any so he's bitching.
