Think about it, you still know they're talking about you if someone does because you can see the responses. And then your curiousity is aroused and you read it. Then the guy you unignore sees you change it just to read it, and change it back. And of course the membership list will double at least when everyone figures that out, one ID for reading the other for posting. LOL.....

I think the ignore feature is just kind of a juvenile way of "getting" someone by telling that person you don't like him/her.  Kind of like Valentine's Day in kindergarten when you have to send valentines to everyone but you refuse to put one in Jimmy's box.

If you really want to irritate someone you don't like, put them on your "buddy" list.  That would be more effective.

Actually it works very well on boards where there is no censorship.  Since this board clearly intends to continue the extremely uneven and ridiculously personal vendetta censorship efforts, there is no point whatsoever to an ignore feature.

What exactly is the point of the "buddy list"?  Is it just like sending someone a Candygram?  Or is there more functionality behind it?

Galt- Buddy list is useful for staying in contact with your buds. Ignore feature is nonsequitor for a debate forum though.
