Let's forget about Ms

I propose we all stop making references to that stupid message board.  I was going there often and posting intermittently, but I've resolved to end my addiciton.  That place is just plain crazy -- I'm now convinced that feminism has become nothing more than the political movement of choice of the codependent personality.

I mean, why do we care?  To read most of the posts is only frustrating.  To see how any sort of expectation of responsibility is characterized as "blaming the victim."  There can be no expectation of meaningful debate, no expectation of changing anyone's views, no expectation for rationalism or logic.

And they're probably one of the most hateful groups of people I've ever encountered.  Maybe I just need to get out more....
"To such females, womanhood is more sacrosanct by a thousand times than the Virgin Mary to popes--and motherhood, that degree raised to astronomic power. They have eaten the legend about themselves and believe it; they live it; they require fealty of us all." -- Philip Wylie, Generation of Vipers

You need to get out more. :P  Seriously though, I view the MS boards like I view Women's Studies or being snow-bound in a log cabin in the Rockies. Isolation breeds weirdness.

I'd just like to add that, while I find those boards traumatic, it appears some of our posters here find them hilarious. And what better grist for the mill on a gender issues forum than the crazies over at MS? You'll never find a better argument against feminism (or any other "ism") than feminists.

I said as much in one of my threads about letting the MS thing go.  Yea, they're nuts almost to the point of schizophrenia, but we all knew that.  To keep making references to MS makes it look like we can't come up with our own topics.

I have another reason to continue examining MS outside of the drama and comedy; its a warning. Before Hitler took over Germany he blurted out all his plans to everyone many times about what he was going to do. Most of the world ignored him and said exactly what youve said. Compelling how history recapitulates. Its true that MS is too vile for the timid or for healthy minds to encounter on a frequent basis, but not unlike Hitlers minions, they are a rabid fifth column coiled like a viper preparing to strike with furious enmity at everyone who stands in their path....just like AlQuaida!
What good fortune for government that people do not think."

"Where madness rules the absurd is not far away."

We must not make the mistake of thinking that all those who eat the bread of dictatorship are evil from the first; but they must necessarily become evil....The curse of a system of terror is that there is no turning back; neither in the large realm of policies nor the 'smaller' realm of everyday human relationships is it possible for men to retrace their steps."

My vote is to stay away from those boards but talk Cog into running commentary. That way it keeps it's amusement value but loses the stress created.
