We have a rip-off of the BBC show "The Week the women went" (too bad some of them didn't stay away). The commercials for this show the stupid men dropping and breaking dishes, dragging kids down the hall by the pants etc. etc. because I can't hold a dish without dropping it if my wife is not home. And the women go do the men's jobs - ooops - I mean they go on a week-long vacation to a resort/spa. The BBC one had the men have to build a fence around the community centre if I recall correctly - very realistic to what women do around my community - building roads, fences and whatnot while the men lounge at the spa.
Then we have a much touted "FRESH NEW COMEDY!" Look, a single not-quite-yet-a-mother since she hasn't had the kid yet, as the hero. Her boyfriend is a scumbag of course. And every fucking commercial I have seen for this has one element in common which tells me they think it's the funniest thing that will draw folks in - she drives some sort of implement - could be a knife - not sure, it goes by quick - right at his head and he ducks and it sticks in the wall. HAHAHAHAHAAHAHHA OMFG domestic violence is so funny! - when a man is the target. Other funny scenes are her throwing shit at him from a second story window and her telling a gay man rubbing her back what a wonderful husband he would be. But it kills me that in most of the commercial as the knife goes whizzing by you hear the voiceover say "FRESH NEW COMEDY!"
I won't watch it. But it burns my ass because my tax money is used to make this shit.
Go ahead now Devia and rationalize it away.
