You would be freaking out, telling everyone you ran into this is crazy- something needs to be done... now!!! And then every man you told this to just very smugly and condescendingly says...

Wow.

Germany, circa 1930-something.

It's the left coast.  What do you expect?
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for I am the MEANEST son-of-a-bitch in the valley.

We all know that there is alot of money involved in the state being pro-mother in custody cases but isn't it also true that women are more likely to let the state tell them how to raise their kids than men are?
I will stop staring at your boobs when you stop staring at my paycheck!

Was it Saul Bellow who said that "California is a cancerous growth on the body of the US of A" (or words to that effect)?  :laughing6:
The spreading of information about the [quantum] system through the [classical] environment is ultimately responsible for the emergence of "objective reality."

I suppose one purpose of the family is to counteract some of the influences of the state, and instead pass on values from parents to children.  It's all we have left, now that the educational system has been so politicized.  And they're busily working to undermine the family as well.

Aaaaaaannd....this "effort" was introduced, and written by,  Concerned Taxpayers of California,...... right?

This was the result of a ballot vote,....... right?

This is expected to qualify as a precedent elsewhere, ........right?

And Education union "administrators"and members all over Ca. have relinquished their "free'  health insurance. immunity from rightful termination. and agreed to public servant pay scales,  to finance this, .............right?

And a public school diploma is MANDITORY for ALL children of ALL Ca. residents receiving  ANY Ca.  taxpayer dollars,...........right?

Meanwhile, on the right (13 miles worth) coast.
The de facto state newspaper The Union Leader reports:
Quote
ON WEDNESDAY, Concord's attitude toward New Hampshire's chartered public schools demonstrated a dramatic shift. The valuable incubators of alternative public education might survive previous attempts to smother them after all. It looks as though Gov. John Lynch (dem) will be given the final say.
(snip)

It seems that charter schools won over legislators by doing what teachers unions have claimed charters could not do: educate struggling students. Legislators have been able to see that instead of draining the best students from regular public schools, charter schools have given average and struggling students new educational opportunities.
(snip)

Charter schools are doing important work in New Hampshire. The House has seen that. Gov. Lynch and the Senate need to follow the House's lead and make sure these schools continue to provide quality public alternatives for students who are not best-served by their traditional public schools.

Private alternatives have repeatedly  PROVED their excellence!

Perfect!
Ask your neighbors what they think of this.
In recognition that the termPolitically Correct has lost its poignancy as a
sarcastic taunt of consistantly failed Socialist Political Engineering{/i], CaptDMO claims
coinage of the term "California Rules" (Best pronounced "Cal-i-forn-e-ah" in honor of the presiding foreign-actor, tied to East Coast Socialist/Criminal elements by marriage,  Governor of the time) as a contemporary colloquialism.

If anyone disagrees, tell 'em to take it to the Ninth Circuit!

More evidence that at some time in the past somebody picked up the US by the east coast and shook it thus causing all the loose bits to settle at the bottom.

In 95% of things 100% of people are alike. It's the other 5%, the bits that are different, that make us interesting. It's also the key to our existence, and future, as a species.

The Biscuit Queen

gwallen, that was good.

This bill is appalling. I think you will start seeing a mass exodus from CA, making it, if possible, even more left leaning and socialist than before.

Whats interesting is that was a quote from a 1961 ruling. 3R's are out, CPL is in. Tin foil hats for everyone?

and this: "I'm kind of hoping some truancy officer shows up on my doorstep," she said. "I'm ready. I have damn good arguments."

Quite honestly, she's gonna need a 12 gauge argument because she'll likely have a swat team at her door for daring to fight the state and neglecting her kids. But then, I'm biased against truancy officers. Back before the days of "zero tolerance" aka the mid 90s where I went to school, you get in a minor fight it was detention or a slap on the wrist. I was asaulted, defended myself, punches were thrown and who has to apologize to the bus driver for fighting? Me, because the nerd dare defend himself against the preppy who had made his own shiv in woodshop and hit my arm with it. Then I had an actual truancy "cop" with his own car with county logo tell me I had to go sit in school till it "officially ended" at 3pm, cause thats "the law". Told him my name, go check with the office what my schedule was as I had no more classes that day and that oh yeah, "we're an open campus sir, so I'm going home". Oh, my bad, I didnt own a car as if I did, no one would have bothered me when leaving. The "cop" was acutally smart and realized I wasn't worth his time and not up to any "trouble". Damn I hated high school and then people actually ask me why I didnt want to become a teacher. Many don't like my answer as it disrupts their cozy world view.
