Everyone pretty much knows about the "last lecture" guy from his youtube videos. I wonder why he thinks that his legacy would be best preserved by naming a sexist female only scholarship in his honor? Would it be in poor taste to e-mail him and ask?

In light of the current situation with boys and college graduation rates, it just doesn't make much sense.

Thoughts?

Edit: He stated how much he values the truth and straight talk no matter how socially unacceptable in an interview with Diane Sawyer, so I emailed him about and asked his motivations in a tasteful way. I'll post any results in here...

lemme guess -- here's your answer:

Men have contolled the world for blah blah blah yadda yadda, one in four women are blah blah yadda yadda, women are under-represented at the highest levels of blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda.

Right?
"To such females, womanhood is more sacrosanct by a thousand times than the Virgin Mary to popes--and motherhood, that degree raised to astronomic power. They have eaten the legend about themselves and believe it; they live it; they require fealty of us all." -- Philip Wylie, Generation of Vipers

Um...what merited "legacy", above and beyond that of the the average milk toast  addicted and enslaved  to vainglorious delusions of The  Emporers New Academic Cap and Gown,   would THAT be....?

Last lecture? Oh well.
Let's move on and save the ceremony and eulogy for the appropriate time.
