He's brought up debates that tend to not be brought up here much and has in my mind solidified  that the vast majority of men here do not want to stone women back to the stone age.

Before Andrew the idea of women being competent unless they are the very far in the right-wing wasn't discussed much here, I think he's brought out some moderate viewpoints in other posters which from the outside looking in can only be a good thing.

You must have missed the 10-15 threads that are 5+ pages long featuring people just flinging insults back and forth.  IMHO, this is NOT a good impression of this forum.  I can't keep repeating this, but Usher is a contrarian, a troll.  There's little debate when he enters a thread, only insults.  If you think that's good, then perhaps I was right about after all,  devia.

My viewpoint is that Andrew has made the board look better from an outsider looking in.

I see your point, but
- it is a painful process of being provoked into stating one's reasonable belief
- ideological opponents will not note the stated reasonable beliefs, but rather point to the provocation and claim that that is the belief prevalent here

I have suspended Andrew Usher for a week or so.  In that time we can make a decision about what to do with him.  Thank you all for your feedback.

Good move E.  Since I'm just back from a break I'd like to check out what A.U.'s been up to lately before I weigh in.  For me, I've been simply skipping over his/her posts and otherwise ignoring him/her; I don't have the time to waste on such things.

In general I'm not in favor of banning people, but I also believe in democracy and majority rule, so I'm willing to consider the debate and membership vote on the subject.

I wouldn't really characterize it that way.  IMO, he spent a large amount of his time hurling insults at the walls, trying to make them stick, resulting in a lot of people wasting their time  shoveling the floor clear of his asinine comments.  In his time at SYG, he's clearly exhibited a pattern of derailing threads.

Notice that this week the forum has been devoid of insults, name-calling, etc. and we're actually discussing actual......topics.  Maybe it's just a coincidence that Usher isn't able to post this week, eh?  :dontknow:

The awesomeness factor of this board is probably +5 since AU was "departed", but the awesomeness factor of Gonz's refutational posts has probably declined somewhat.

The lack of a target rich environment contributes to that.  When you take away "I'm right! I redefine that word! I never said what you just quoted so you're lying! I don't have to prove my assertion, you have to prove me wrong!" it doesn't leave much to work with.  Damn these reasonable people and their adherence to logical form!

How am I supposed to be curmudgeonly now?

If I ever take over "down there" - because Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell is afraid of a Coup - I will lock him and She Who Is Not To Be Named together, and pipe their inanity through the intercom of Perdition until God Himself is moved to mercy, and paroles all of the damned.

Don't worry Gonz, I can start another debate about how we don't need government. That should get you fired up. I do miss Andrew's redefinition stuff especially when one can use his new definition against him.

Dammit Gonz, I just peed my pants at my desk laughing over that one!

I can just picture Andrew Usher wearing a harness suspended from a flagpole, kicking and screaming to be let down, while Dr. E walks away.  :laughing6:

I never said it was a necessary evil, only an inevitable one.  When you figure out hw to persuade the sheeple that they don't need a government, without coercing them, you let me know.  Until then, they will implement one from willing tyrants, and we'l be back to the same old.

Yes, and the debate is always in true "Marxocentric" style, striving for  obfuscation, divisiveness, confusion and heavy attacks on ideas of Western culture/traditional Western civilization.  Please get used to seeing that word (Marxocentric).  Marxocentrism more clearly defines the Marxist rhetoric that's coming from the left in AmeriKa today.

Hatefully bigoted Marxocentric ideology has heavily infested our educational systems, with a goal of spreading their cancer to every social institution, every home, and every individual in Western society.  Marxocentrist ideologues hate everything to do with Western civilization and have coined and over used words like "Euro-centrism to prejudicially attack, and tear down, traditional Western culture.  In fact, Marxocentrists are fond of altering traditional societal meanings by stealing the meaning of existing words and inventing new words to further their evil ideology.  I, for one, am sick of the hateful bigotry of Marxocentric ideology - - - especially gender feminism.  Marxocentrism is at the core of the biggest hate movement in AmeriKa today - the democrat party.  The democrat party has always been one of their major objectives.  It's a marriage made in hell.
