More think speak. Alter the definition of words to alter thinking. This is why I keep a couple of dictionaries in the house including pre-1960 versions. Also check the definition of racism

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/racism
Quote
1.    a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2.    a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3.    hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

#3 was the original definition at least a decade or two ago. Now its been altered to be an attempt to make racism = power + prejudice.
Feminists - "Verbally beating men like dumb animals or ignoring them is all we know and its not working."

There are now a lot of women editors in charge of these dictionaries. Some won't print the term "misandry".

If you use The Oxford Dictionary, at least the definition used must pass an approval board, prior to publication.

This point you bring up is very significant. If there is no uniform or standardized definition of sexism and racism, or if you can demonstrate that the definitions have been significantly altered over time, you can have an impact on litigation involving these two phenomena.

What IS the legal definition of sexism, anyway?
