"To such females, womanhood is more sacrosanct by a thousand times than the Virgin Mary to popes--and motherhood, that degree raised to astronomic power. They have eaten the legend about themselves and believe it; they live it; they require fealty of us all." -- Philip Wylie, Generation of Vipers

I agree, but it is frustrating to continue to hear women's violence be excused, because, "She did not cause any harm," or She was smaller in stature," or the other excuses that are present on the comments of that post.  A few of the commenters at the CNN post in question are getting the message that no one should be hitting anyone else, but there continue to be those who excuse women's violence, or lack of physical restraint.  I listed another comment on my most recent post, where one of the commenters indicated that the women in his martial arts class demonstrated no restraint at all once they got over their reservations about hitting someone else.
"A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both."
-- General Dwight D.  Eisenhower.

"Be bold and courageous.  When you look back on your life, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the ones you did."
-- Unknown.
