:sad1:

I'd hate to be the child of this woman - I feel sorry for her 3 year old daughter who will no doubt grow up miserable.

Next up : Tom and Jerry for animal cruelty.

Eventually all shows will be like Teletubbies - a load of multi-coloured androgens mumbling nonsense.

The descriptions of the female characters (and there are a lot of them considering it really is geared to boys) have the same characteristics as the male characters-all are flawed. So she is upset because there are no female leads and not all female characters are perfect?

The show is actually more disturbing in how it treats boys in the sense that it trains young boys to be good little worker bees. Now personally I think that is not necessarily a bad thing, to teach good work ethics to children, but where are the shows for girls upholding hard work, getting along with higher ups, taking punishment with good grace and learning how to make oneself useful?

There are none. Girls shows are all about girls doing and getting what they want, or being heroes, or triumphing over boys. What if there was a show about girls staying at home and learning how to keep a house? They would be punished if they missed a spot, or were slow to bring the tea....now that would be a comparison to Thomas the Tank, and it would go over like a lead balloon.

My kids loved Thomas the Tank, and I enjoyed it too. But if you are going to read into it, at least be accurate.

Professor Shauna Wilton, from the department of political sciences at Alberta University, Canada, wants tighter controls on what is broadcast-to children.

What disturbs me about this story is not just the political correctness of it.  This woman is openly admitting that she wants to replace one set of "messages" with another.  She's telling the world that she wants to indoctrinate children today with "opinions and world outlook," so that they will eventually become "full political citizens" reflecting that indoctrination.

I remember when hard work and good manners(knowing your place as this PC creep calls it) were valued in both boys and girls.
You may sleep soundly at night because rough men stand ready to visit violence upon those who seek to harm you.

(sarcasm) How dare we try to impost MANNERS on children - we should just be their best friends and REASON with them - and they'll grow into responsible, well mannered, intelligent beings who vote socialist. (/sarcasm)

Good point. Throughout my lifetime I've seen the inevitable consequences when easily impressionable minds that have never been given the opportunity to outgrow the likes of "Thomas the Tank", and  are bestowed voting "rights" without ANY sort of
"test", license , or permit, DEMONSTRATING competence to comprehend the consequences of an issue at hand.

But I see that those who wish to indoctrinate the young in the captive class room, and away from parental supervision, have finally dropped actually saying "It's for the children...", and have NOW set their sights on politically Corrected censorship of freely available media.

Who said (paraphrase)"If I can control "education" of  the children..."
