LOL!  Gracious.  No one could make this stuff up.  I think Pelosi is so bigoted and shortsighted she can't see her toes.  Unbelievable.

Pelosi: Climate change is a women's issue
By Eric Zimmermann - 12/17/09 01:19 PM ET
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) addressed the Copenhagen climate change conference today, framing climate change as a women's issue.

Speaking to a roundtable hosted by the Global Gender and Climate Alliance, Pelosi said the U.S. has for too long ignored climate change.

"For too long, America has failed to lead on climate change," she said. "We have come to Copenhagen to say: 'Those days are over. America is back."

Pelosi said women should be particularly concerned about the detrimental effects of climate change.

"Women have the most to gain and the most to lose in the climate crisis," she said. "The impacts are not gender-neutral; as the primary users, managers, and stewards of natural resources, women feel the consequences first."

She continued:

"Changing agricultural conditions will hit women hardest.  In most developing countries, women produce the vast majority of the household food supply.  It is the world's grandmothers, mothers, and sisters in most countries who fetch water, gather wood and prepare meals. As resources become more scarce, so do opportunities for these women to attend school, tend crops, and lift themselves out of poverty.

Pelosi touted the House's passage of cap-and-trade, higher fuel efficiency standards, and the U.S. Capitol's decreased carbon footprint as evidence that the U.S. is serious about fighting global warming.

Dr E,

Ya know, when I try to tell the guys at work this stuff, they roll their eyes.  They KNOW I'm telling the truth, because over time when I've been questioned I've produced the articles - but most are apathetic.

Right until the biased legal system hits them, or they apply for aid and see how they are "all back of da bus and sh*t" - but by then they are ashamed and don't speak out.

Pelosi is such a political whore of the first order.  I think some people, after surrounding themselves with syncophants for year, and never being TRULY challenged and shamed in public about their lies grow to actually believe the crap they spew.

Then tell Pelosi that since men have less of a stake in the outcome than women do, women should get going and fix the problem instead of whining about men not fixing it.

"Have at it, Nanc! I'll be over here with my buddies tossing back a few cold ones and enjoying the game!"

Beyond stupdity, this kind of comment is pure evil.  Disengenous lies to score a political point for feminism, while discounting half the population of the world as unimportant.

As scarbo says, let's turn that around - hey guys - global warming's fine for us - turn up your carbon footprint if you can!

HUH!!!! WHAT!!! WHERE!!!!

Is she SERIOUS! When/where/how are women the stewards of natural resources???!!?!!?

Oh and like men are going to chivalrously rush up to save women... right. Like women would rush to save men if global climate change effected men.
