They initially called it the military-industrial complex. Now, it seems to have morphed into the entertainment-media complex, or at least now they are equal competitors. We might have taken a hint when we saw actors become governors. There's a line from a 1989 movie "Black Rain", where the japanese cop tells Michael Douglas that the only two things his country is good for are movies and music.
