Amber

Frankly, I wish more people would ignore me ... or at least stop talking about me.
he men's movement is a hate movement.

What feminism is to men; the men's rights movement is to women.

Men's rights activists blame misandry for all their problems in the same way that feminists blame the patriarchy.

The only thing men's rights activists are good at is abusing women.

And you can quote me on that.  :D

Well, as I said in an earlier post; if you're aspiring to be a writer you're going to have to live with inspiring passion in both directions. Seems to me that it comes with the territory doesn't it? You can't be topical and controversial and not expect some pretty strong reactions. I'd of thought you'd be flattered that your efforts do elicit strong responses.

Amber only wants people who kiss her ass to pay attention to her.

Although, my comment about her age was spot on. Nobody who's 23 should be saying 'Come back and tell me when you're 50.'

After all, it's not as if she's got 50 years life experience and is in a position to be looking down her nose at anyone.

Of course, that's exactly what Amber always does. She looks down her nose at other people as if she is perfect.

Yet out of one side of her mouth, she talks about modesty and chastity, and out of the other she talks about the numerous 'relationships' she's had with men much older than her, and how much she loves cock.

She talks about how gentlemen (the kind she wants) like 'ladies' who have 'virtue' and then uses lanaguage that would make drunken sailors blush bright red and talks about how she's too busy getting drunk to defend her positions.

Amber's a hypocrite, and not a very intelligent one at that.

<<Although, my comment about her age was spot on. Nobody who's 23 should be saying 'Come back and tell me when you're 50.'>>

Your comment WAS right on the money; that's the real reason you got put on Ignore.

If I look around at people I know, some of the young people full of advice for others wound up divorced later on.  Others who were more laid-back and not so preachy and self-righteous are still together - in fact, that may be part of the reason why.  And that's even taking the point of view that all people WANT that sort of thing; that's certainly not the case, as Nyet has effectively pointed out.

This kind of idealization and deification (of a FUTURE partner that is sure to come along) is not always compatible with real life.  One example of a "break not bend" type of person is John List - who had to have the ideal marriage and family, and when the square peg of his ideals couldn't be hammered into the round hole of real life - he simply wiped out his family.

There is just a bit too much of the Prince Who will Come Along and Take Me to His Castle kind of thing here.

It's actually kind of funny if you think about it.

<<And, no, I don't browse on the guest mode .. I only see what other people that I have on ignore write when someone quotes them.>>

I don't believe that one for a minute, in fact I've seen you respond to Bilbo's posts.  At least try to be plausible.

MortalMan

I love watching a post subject spiral into an out of control tangent.

LOL  :D

Amber is young. Yes. But I doubt anyone here can say that they had never said something when they were young(er) that they now believe differently.

Also, just because you are young does not mean that everything you say is automatically wrong. I have heard many a young person make wise comment on a situation that I would have never expected from the usual representative of that age group.

And now back to your regularly scheduled Bashing......

Amber put me on her ignore list for disagreeing with her...talk about the dictatorship of Saddam... God help us if Amber is in a position of power.

If she were making coments laced with wisdom, I might be inclined to agree with you.

But what she's doing is telling people what life is going to be like when they're in their fifties, as if she has any way of knowing that.

She is not a sociologist, a psychologist, licensed counselor or psychiatrist. She has no background or training in advising people regarding later life issues, which could be ignored if she had some personal experience to draw from - but she doesn't have that either.

All she has is guesses, pulled out of her ass, based on her judgments of what she believes is the one and only right way to live.

Amber is someone who'd do well to learn that she doesn't know everything.

MortalMan

I never said that this particular article was one of those gems of wisdom that young people sometimes hit upon.

I am thinking that more people would agree with Amber's articles if she changed the way she words some things. She tends to put things in the perspective that this is the way things ought to be, as oposed to wording things more in the line of 'In my opinion such and such would be more likely to happen if more people behaved in such and such manner.'

But...thats just my opinion.  8)

First Amber needs to grow up and realize that she can get a lot more mileage out of discussing disagreement rather than immediately shifting into Bitch gear, and shrieking how people are communists and in some conspiracy to hate her.

But, hey.  What do I know?
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for I am the MEANEST son-of-a-bitch in the valley.

Ya whatever.  I'll never do the "in my opinion" nonsense.  I don't think things; I know things.  Ayn Rand has some quote in Atlas Shrugged somewhere about being under the tyranny of people who don't "know" things but rather ... "think" things ...

It's a very leftist mindset to believe things are "just my opinion."  It's the cult of subjectivism.  It is the very thing I despise.

Hey, it was just my opinion.  :)

Sometimes opinions are round about ways of making suggestions.

As the saying goes : Opinions are like A**holes, everyones got one.

And just because someones got one doesn't mean you want to smell it.

Amber, I like much of your writing. I'm just trying to offer some constructive criticism. Try not to be thin skinned about it.  :)

Also, I like your almost subtle insinuation I am a leftist.  :D

How about this then-

I KNOW your wrong.

But I don't hold it against you. I see alot of potential in you, Amber.

Keep up the good fight.
