I amminmIndianapolis today. Waiting on a repair so I have not been driving all night.

Then bring your ass down to West street about two miles south of Lucas oil stadium and I willmbuy you a beer. I sure as hell don't have anything else to do.

Fuck, lad, I'm only about 60 miles away from you.
You may sleep soundly at night because rough men stand ready to visit violence upon those who seek to harm you.

Are you aware that exorcisms in the Catholic Church aren't even considered until all other medical and psychiatric means of addressing the situation have been exhausted first?

I had to let that one digest first. From a person who otherwise sounds reasonably intelligent, in the year 2010.

You only drive out demons when other medical and psychiatric means fail?

Holy crap.

And examples of people dying during exorcisms are only a Google search away.

This is some sophomoric sophistry you're pulling here, wouldn't you agree? Grade - A cherry-picking too!

No, you can only consider it to be possibly demonic when medical and psychiatric means "have been exhausted first", at which time you may be authorized to attempt an exorcism.

Oh, now it's "people" dying during exorcisms, not children; and they are not necessarily being "tortured" prior to their demise.

Now how's about the other questions posed in response to your previous post?
Quote
Could you give us some examples of children tortured to death because of religious beliefs ... concrete examples, that is. Could you give us some that do not involve the Catholic Church? You allude to one, Christian Science, which is very different from Catholicism. Are we to assume exorcisms are "botched" to such a degree of frequency as to be worthy of mention here? How do you define "botched" regarding exorcisms? What do you base your definition on? Are you aware that exorcisms in the Catholic Church aren't even considered until all other medical and psychiatric means of addressing the situation have been exhausted first? Are you aware that "Catholic" identifies many other churches besides Rome (Old Catholic, Liberal Catholic, to name just two)?

And I guess FGM on nearly every Islamic girl doesn't count as torture? No pain meds, dirty tools, disfigurement and death commonplace. Oh yeah, then there is the stoning of rape victims, the killing of young men and women for dating, cutting hands off for theft (without proper court procedures in many cases).

Makes the occasional nutcase pretending to be Christian sort of pathetic in comparison.

My Volkswagen meets the criteria and I believe would benefit from an exorcism.  The Catholic Church could raise considerable funds by assisting the owners of certain imports.

Volkswagons are soulless things to begin with, so it's not possession, but infestation.

Though the ritual  for that still qualifies as AN excorcism, but it wouldn't be the one most people think of.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for I am the MEANEST son-of-a-bitch in the valley.

Paul - that's the Mahikari religion of Japan. They perform ritual exorcisms on Volkswagons. Get the book, if it's still in print (Dojo: Magic and Exorcism in Modern Japan, by Winston Davis).
