This guy is claiming the U.S. has "unofficially ceded" part of Arizona to the Mexican drug lords. Posting road signs warning travelers to avoid the Vekol Valley is the same as stating it belongs to the Mexicans. We should be sending troops there instead.

Agree or disagree?

Sounds like the US has decided that sending more officers there would be more costly than letting the cartels doing it.

I think you are correct, we have ceded our right to police part of our own country. .....we could send down platoon for a practice run for Afganistan while also kicking the cartels out.

There are always two extremes....the truth lies in the middle.

It is giving it to them by default. Our goverent will give free stuff to deadbeats but won't secure our borders. Go figure.

It makes the US look weak and ineffectual in my opinion. As a Canadian it's pretty scary to think that if foreign criminals can just invade and take over parts of the greatest/most powerful country on earth, just imagine the damage they could do to a country like mine.

Oh, I know....the naive thinking seems to be "If we're nice to them, maybe they won't kill us".   :dontknow:

You know, you hear a lot about Arizona in this controversy. You hear about Texas to a lesser extent. You hear almost nothing about New Mexico. If the three of them united and pooled their resources ... just sayin'.

I wonder if today's election will change any of this?

Probably not protecting the integrity of the border doesn't buy any votes. :-(

It would buy MY vote...

But then, I'm deployed military, so it's unlikely my vote would be counted, anyway.
