I love the passive voice... NOT.

That undercurrent of fear was actively developed and spread by people (mostly women) from "the caring professions" and 'allied' people.

Society has told men they are useless and a danger to kids. If they dare to actually like kids and be a good father, well they must just be covering up for being an abuser and child molestor behind closed doors. So now we see men running away from their kids, relationships and the rest but they blame the men for it making it a case od damned if they do stay as good fathers and damned if they run off.

Either way we are evil and they wonder why so many are just giving up.

I will never be alone with a kid that is not mine, or that of a trusted friend. I was the victim of a false accusation when I was about 20 (more than that many years ago now) and have since that day sworn off ever being alone with children, or for that matter, women that I am not personally friends with.

I went to pick up a buddy of mine, we were going out for hotwings and beer. He had to work a few minutes late at the grocery store he worked at, so I went outside to use the payphone. (back in the days before cellular phones, folks used to put coins into public phones to make calls...)

Suddenly two men tried to attack me, and I ran into the store asking for someone to call the cops. To my shock, they followed me in and said(I'll never forget this), "Yeah, call the cops! This guy's a CHILD MOLESTOR!". Thankfully, the manager calling the cops was my buddy and knew better.

When the cops arrived, they didn't care about my character witness or anything, they immediately put me in handcuffs and put me in a cruiser, then took the statements of the men. Turns out, they were accusing me of molesting their children, who were attempting to sell kittens in the doorway of the store. I had seen them blocking up the entrance and suggested they move when I walked past. That was apparently all the provocation they needed to cook up this story.

I would probably be in jail to this day for this, because the female cop who arrived considered me guilty as accused, and was treating me as such. Thankfully, there was a woman who had sent her teenage children into the store to shop while she waited in the car. She had seen me arrive (I parked a couple cars over from her) and had seen all of my coming and going. She came to the police cruiser and asked what was going on. When I told her what was happening, she spoke up to the police officer, and literally saved my freedom and reputation.

To add insult to injury, the cop kicked me out of the car, refused to give me the false accuser's names, and refused to take a complaint against them. I spoke to a friend who was an attorney, and he said I was lucky and screwed. There is no recourse for false accusations of this nature.

(on that note, I think that if you knowingly falsely accuse someone of a crime, you should be given the same sentence your victim would have received if convicted).

and even better with a tie in to the TSA insanity:

Years ago it was just my mom and myself, we were dirty poor and my mom just wanted to get her mind of things I guess, by helping someone out.

So she was looking into some sort of a big sister's program. They got all apprehensive that she had a 17 year old son living there and wanted all kinds of police checks and other shit done on me. So my mom said fuck you guys, I won't have my son treated like a criminal in his own home.

It's a little more than ironic considering the state of things today, where everyone is an assumed terrorist because governments have done criminal acts and are in fear of the people.
