The account may be impressive, but it seems to me that the owner isn't all that bright.  No bank account should contain more than the maximum amount that the bank is insured for.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that amount $100,000?  If you have 100 million, you should spread it out in multiple banks.

I think it is $250,000 per account, but your point is an entirely valid one and was brought up at the site where I found the pic. Besides keeping that much dough in a plain savings acct isn't the smartest move either.

Woah!

$2.75  to withdraw your own cash? Thank goodness to those new (INSTANTLY raised) "guidelines" concerning debit card "prossessing" fees and "insurance", protecting THE BANK from debit card fraud.

My thought is that this is some "gubmint"/non-gub'mint org. (NGO) account, accessed by an employee for (ahem) "expenses" there in East Hampton.
with the same diligence for security as other gub'mint employees demonstrate with military/medical/irs info laden lap tops, as well as the kind of diligence demonstrated in "compensating" Katrina "victims" with debit cards.

But around East Hampton NY, one never knows when they're gonna need fast access to
a few quick million cash.

Geeze, at LEAST folks empowered with access to that kind of (damned close to zero interest-but who cares?) cash have the sense to actually get cash, and NEVER use the "company card" for transactions at establishments of questionable "expense voucher" viability, ESPECIALLY if such  receipts might likely be sold, subpoenaed , or FOIA'd. (new verb form) by folk professing "inquiring minds".
