Obama on marriage: 'Do whatever she tells you'
Olivier Knox, Yahoo! News | The Ticket

President Barack Obama, marriage counselor?

The president stopped at the Kozy Corners diner in Oak Harbor, Ohio, on Thursday for what political campaigns dub an "OTR"--an "off the record" event that isn't on the formal schedule--and doled out a bit of marriage advice.

"Just do whatever she tells you to," Obama told a man sitting with his wife at a table during a brief chat about what makes a good marriage. [...]

Wow, what a deep insight. Next thing, VP Biden will get into VAWA that saying "no" by the husband is a fundamental part of "the war on women".

That's what most men do, just to make life easier.

What are you supposed to do?  You can't legally confront them, otherwise you're threatening or bullying them.

Don't marry them in the first place.....problem solved.  :toothy9:

Just say "no"... especially before the altar.  :greener:

At a recent family dinner, I was seated near my oldest brother, his oldest son (who's about 29 years old) and the son's live-in girlfriend. The piece of advice that my brother gave my nephew is, "Everything will be okay once you learn that 'she' is always right." Of course the girlfriend just smiled and agreed with the sage advice. This is the same woman that declared that she was being attacked by the vicious Patriarchy during a discussion of rules while playing a board game, that I posted about a few months ago.  :rolle:
"A man chooses. A slave obeys." What if a man 'chooses' to obey, because he is met with scorn, shame and ridicule and rendered a social outcasts if he does not?

It is terrible advice in so many ways. He probably meant more than do whatever she says -- he also meant give her whatever she wants. The essence of marriage which is life partnership in good and bad times where the marriage is most important for the benefit of the children among other reasons becomes "until she doesn't get exactly what she wants." That is no basis for a life partnership obviously.  Very, very sick.
