DENVER - Denver Police confirmed Thursday afternoon that a mother shot her three children, then herself on Wednesday morning. The mother, 23-year-old Mayra Nunez and two of her children, a 6-year-old daughter, Nivek Morales, and a 2-year-old son, Eric Perez, died.

The autopsies found that Nivek had been shot "multiple" times, while Eric and Mayra died of a single gunshot wound.

"What's done is done. God will be the judge of her," said Tony Nunez, the mother's brother.

The woman's 3-year-old daughter, Isabel, was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center. She remains in critical condition and her doctor said Wednesday that the girl "is in a deep coma."

The announcements came at a press conference at Denver Health that also involved statements from two family members and the doctor.

"I'm overwhelmed with the response from people that have offered their help, you know, people we don't even know from different states, from different backgrounds," said Tony Nunez.

"I want to ask for a prayer to guide us through these hard times that we're going through," said Edgar Munoz.

Another family member, who did not wish to be identified, told 7NEWS that Isabel was shot in the head.

Ricky Perez, the father of Eric and Isabel, was not injured. It's unclear where he was at the time of the shooting but police have described him as cooperative with the investigation.

The anonymous family member told 7NEWS that the couple argued the night before the shooting and Ricky did not stay the night at the family's home.

The family is setting up a fund for Isabel Perez at Wells Fargo banks that will be ready to accept donations Friday. The account number is 6257187770 and the routing number 121000248.
