It has been suggested that we hide the membership list information from registered users or lurkers.  What do you think would be best?  Hiding the information or leaving it open for all to see?

Comments welcome.

I voted for "don't really care"...

Because I don't really care  :)

I don't think people will stumble upon this place will they?  I mean, the only people signing up are from Shethinks or Ms.  Unless Dr Evil started the media blitz :)  My point being that everyone who signs up pretty much knows what everyone here is all about...

I too went for the "don't really care" option.

I vote yes, hide the information.  It isn't of any use to anyone but the moderator.

Wait, one question Tony, are you talking about the newest registered members list or the list that shows who's online?

If you're referring to the online list, you can change that in your preferences and make it so that no one sees you. You will show up as a hidden member.

I wonder, if you select that option in preferences, will it also make your new registration invisible as well?

Jen I was wondering the same thing and when I experimented it seems that you can be a "hidden" member but your profile is still visible and you are also listed on the memberlist.

We could always hack the code on that one.
Dr Evil did you put that other code change in?

Which change?

You know, Dave, I could bait you the opposite way.  I could register as Nikkiru or Elainek and watch you try to conjure them up.

I mean hide the membership list.  It's fun and kind of cool but it serves no purpose in terms of dialog, communication etc.  In fact it may be detrimental to these aims if it is misused.
