Dan,
with total respect I have to disagree.
Sure, there are some power drunk aritocratic class "victims" who make all women look bad. And their Gen-Feminist enablers/cheerleaders need to be locked up for public safety (same as KKKers who advoacte violence and imprisoning of "inferior" races), but that being said .... nah, women should be able to vote same as men.
I mean, as an MRA I try to be upfront that "yes, some men are violent, but don't paint all men with that brush and deny all men our due process under the law" in our message.
I think the same applies here.
I mean, everyone thinks their point of view is "right" and that "bad people" should be disempowered, but that kind of disenfranshising the vote IS done to a LOT of men: the falsely accused and imprisoned who are falsely convicted felons. We MRAs don't talk about that a lot. And we should. With a simple declaration of guilt by a false accuser a man's voting power and his subsequent political lobbying power goes to about NIL in a heartbeat.
And we MRAs rightly decry that as unjust. And I won't become like those I hate.
On a personal note, due to our latest "board invasion" I got a dose of humble pie. How so, because some of our posts were taken and pasted there. And some of our rants (and believe me I am totally including myself - sh*t, I was a prime example) reflected poorly on us.
I point no fingers except at myself. I keep forgetting that this board is very public, that a lot of feminists lurk here to take our posts and [cut and paste] them for public display (sometimes out of context, but not always).
I am not in anyway pontificating as I was one of the ones who most needed a reality check, and I got one.
I formally apologize to my fellow MRAs for losing my temper, reflecting poorly on our movement, and for NOT acting as a moderator, MRA writer, and fellow activist should have acted. Mea culpa.
with respect,
Steven
