Hi, guys.   I   have  something  to  share  with  you.   I  live  in  a  house  in  Massachusetts   with  my  uncle, aunt, two  cousins  and  sister.   I  am  19  and  my  sister  is  17.  She  is  a   rather   violent  girl.    on  August  17,  2003  she  tried  to  stab  me  with  a knife.   I   wanted  to  speak  out  but  our  close-knit  family  prevented  me  from  doing  so.   They  also  prevented  me  from  contacting  the  police  or  anything  like  that.  Over the  next  few  months, she  has  committed  various   acts  of  violence  and
malice  towards  me.

I've  had  it  with  her.

I  went  to  the  police  to  file  a  complaint.   An  old  cop  sent  me  to  the  courthouse  instead.   I  filled  out  a  complaint  form  and  signed  an  affidavit.    I  wanted  to  obtain  a  restraining  order  against  her.   I  was  sent  before  the  judge -  alone.    I  was  the  rare  MALE  complainant   at  the  courthouse.    I   told  the  judge  the  truth.  He
told  me  that  he  couldnt  issue a   restraining   order  without   hearing
my  sister's  side  of  the  story.   The  biased   SOB  !!!!

I  am  due  in   court  within  a  couple  of  weeks  to  try  my  case  again.
I am  accusing  my  sister  of  domestic  violence  and  want  to  get  a restraining  order  against  her.    She  will  be served  with   a  summons
to  Court   at  some  point.   Before  she  finds  out,  I  intend  to drive  the
final  nail  in  her coffin.   I  want   to  go  to  the  police  and  file  a  complaint  with  them  and  hopefully  have  better  luck  than   with  the
biased  judge.     What  she   has  been  doing  is a  crime  and  I  will  have   her  jailed.

I  may  not  win  this  case  but  I  promise  you  one  thing,  I  wont  go  down  easy  or quietly  into  the   night.   I've  started  to  work  for  S.A.F.E.   www.safe4all.org  which  helps   Male  Victims   of  Domestic
Violence.   Also,  I  hand  out  many   flyers  with  information  for  Battered  Men   in  my  spare  time.  I  always  have  a lot  of  them  on
me.

Wish  me  luck.

Good luck dude.  Keep us posted.  And get out of there if you can!

I wish you the best of luck, the court system is biased, but occasionally justice does happen. I'm sorry about your family. Hopefully you can get out of there soon.

Hi,  there.     My  sister   just   received  a   summons  to  court.   Trial  date  is  set  for   next   Monday,  the  7th.   She  will  be the  defendant and  I  will
be   the  complainant.    I  have  contacted   both  the   Battered  Men's  Helpline  and  a   certain   lady  lawyer  in   Boston   and   sought   advice  from  them  about the case.   My  family  just   found  out.  They  had  a  fit.
I stood  my  ground.   They  told  me  that  a  man  is   not  supposed  to   report  a  woman,  especially  a  female   family  member  who   does  violence  to  him.   I  told  them  that  I  did  not  care.   If   battered  women
have   rights,  then   battered  men  do   too.    I  dont   care   where  this
takes  me.    I will   fight   for  my    rights.    I  am  a  human   being  and   I
deserve   respect  and  security.   It   doesnt   matter   what   gender   or  what   color   I  am.

I'll   keep    you   posted.    BTW,   the   name   is    Steeves.

*Zoinks*

First your family forbids you from making contact with the Police...

Then they tell you that a "man is not supposed to report a woman etc. etc".

What is with these people?

How can they value your safety and wellbeing so little?

Are they afraid of making this problem public?

They  are  so   backwards  it's   not   even  funny.   I  graduate  college  in  2005.  I  will  get  out   of   there  soon.  I  plan  on  working  and  getting  a  job  in  the  computer  business   while  working   for  Stop  Abuse  For  Everyone   www.safe4all.org    and   D.A.H.M.  www.batteredmenshelpline.org     in  order   to   make  a  difference  in  the  lives   of   others  like   you  or  I.   Peace.

Hey Blackmanx, sorry to hear about your situation you sound like a very intelligent determined young man who despite a difficult "personal dilemma" has made what I have perceived as a correct decision.

She may be your sister and only 17, but yet if the gender roles had been reversed and you had attempted to stab her I doubt your family would adopt such a lenient attitude, as a (black) male you would be subject to a humiliating process of arrest by a sexist/racist police force whose "feminist composed" domestic violence training excludes the concept of female offender's.

Your stance is testament to your belief in the inequality's so transparent in the two tier system of law and justice ever so prevalent in today's society, dependant purely based on the arrangement of one's genitalia.

I support your action because even to get her crime's at the very least on record, act's in part as a quasi- insurance policy (reverse gender's would be totally authentic) against further future action's against you or any other unfortunate male's subject to her perceived justified entitled "PUNISHMENT."

Optimistically I hope this act's as a catalyst for her to amend her way's and be a good decent caring productive individual, however I am still amazed (or am I!) at your family's nauseating contradictory hypocritical position/attitude. You have to be strong and not deviate from your position, to do so will confirm your sister's and family's sexist hypocritical stance and your word will mean diddly squat.

Amen  to  that,  fellas  !    Her  crime  is  on  the   record.   Justice  will  be  served.   In  the  meantime,   I  am   handing  out  papers  with  information  that  helps   MALE  VICTIMS  OF   DOMESTIC  VIOLENCE.    I've  handed  out  hundreds  already  and   like  the  reactions  I've  been  getting.   With  the
exception  of  a    few   morons,   most   people   KNOW   it  to  be  the  TRUTH.  I  will  continue  to    do  this  indefinitely.   Peace.

Question:

Why didn't you question the judge?

The next best thing is getting a legal aid lawyer to send her a registered letter of your intent.
