I don't see what the OP's point is.
I must say I am glad the RAF and Britain held off Nazi Germany for 2.25 years until the US entered the fray, but that was 60-65 years ago, and all of those brave men are rapidly dying off.
Those men had wives who helped at home, and when they returned most of those women supported and loved their men, bearing them children and making a house into a home.
Unfortunately, the attitude those women had in 1946 is all but gone in 2005 America. What we need to do is fight the good fight now, taking into consideration what most women are like today, and gain some semblance of equality in the public and private and legal spheres. Maybe, after we have redressed the current inequalities, women will return to a more amenable and non-combative attitude.
