I just did. I cannot belive, or should I say I do but is it insane, that her defence against the idea that this could be used falsely against men is ~well women wouldn't do that.

Yeah, right

I also like the whole women cannot be held accountable for using a female condom because this law is really about aquaintance rape, and the girl does not have to say no clearly in order for it to be aquaintance rape.Never mind that you cannot be charge for the same crime twice, so it is more about putting men in jail longer.

I do think Glenn missed a few opportunities and depended on talking over her,  but overall it was a good show.

There are always two extremes....the truth lies in the middle.

Sir Jessy of Anti

I did listen to the show, and I think it was  pretty clear that the evil feminist didn't care one whit about disease prevention or reckless sex.

My thoughts on this are that if something rediculous like this was ever law, then the best defense against this offense is simply to point out that you are ALSO the victim as your partner didn't wear a condom either.
It strikes me as simplistic, but wouldn't that be an appropriate defense?

Also, the other female professor on the show had a good point in that this is essentially state-mandated eugenics, and as such is not really constitutional.

I particularly enjoyed listening to her stammer and grope when asked why the woman shouldn't be held equally responsible for use of a female condom or dental dam.  It's funny how obvioously some people can be lying about their own motives, be aware of it yet deny it like that.

I also liked how she then cited that lesbian STD transmission is so much lower than hetero transmission.  So here again we have contractual type legal systems based in statistics rather than objective rule of law.  Couldn't that be considered gender profiling?

One thing I've noticed is that the STD transmission rate for senior citizens is lower than that of 20 year olds.  So shouldn't they be exempt from the law as well?  I mean it could be statistically supported.

Agreed. That was the best moment in the show; it laid the hypocrisy wide open. Hats off to Glenn for laying such a perfect trap for her to walk into!  :oh-yeah:

When she mentions hetero relationships having higher STD transmission rates than lesbian ... did anyone think that gay male transmission rates stats need to be looked at?

Now, let's be careful here, because gay men are MEN too, and I don't want to discriminate, have the appearence of discrimination, nor drive gay men from our movement.

But, that said, it could be looked at.

I'm actually posting from here in Arkansas while we are on a 10 min break in training.

On the rape issue I found this

If you listened to the show. You would have noticed that Ms Baker used some typical femspeak about sex andrape.

Sush as Lack of consent and 'communicative' sex.

A range of once-radical feminist ideas - the suspicion of heterosex; the demand that women should always be believed and that they never lie about rape; the notion that the law should be more interventionist in policing men's behaviour

That pretty much sums up what Ms Baker is about. There's no genuine concern for preventing STDs or even Rape. This is all about her views on men and hetrosex.

Roy

I e-mailed Glenn that, after reading all the links he posted prior to the show, that the feminazi agenda is clearly about creating a New sex-crime lesser than rape, with lower standards of legal proof, and all the a priori codes criminalizing men only.

I believe the proposed minimum sentence for "reckless sex" was six months in prison?

I missed the live broadcast on the 'Net.

Did anyone ask -- if this law was passed, what specifically can a MAN do to ensure he is having "legally safe" sex?

I'm thinking a written pre-screw consent form with appropriate check-boxes; and/or videotape.

Perhaps a live witness?

Is there a timeline on when she intends to introduce a bill and who its to be submitted to? We really need to voice vigorous objection to Congress and the states as well to never allow this kind of bullshit to pass.

I'm listening to the show as we speak.  Why on EARTH do some people still believe the myth that women never initiate sex???  This harpy just recited the myth again, to try and justify throwing a boy in jail, but not the girl.  "There's actually a very decent likelyhood, if they are teenagers about to engage in sex, that the girl doesn't even want to have the sex."

B.S.!!!  Sure, there's a chance, but that's the exception, not the rule.  You don't want to found laws on exceptions instead of rules.

Please e-mail Glenn and ask him to restore the RealAudio stream option his site used to offer.

MP3 requires a file download and too much time waiting.

Or do I have my Windows Player set up wrong?

When I click on HisSide's "Listen to Show MP3" option, I'm looking at an hour of file download on a 56kb "techno-peasant" 'Net connection.

Other options, anybody?

Roy, when the thingie comes up asking if you want to download the file, do you have the option to "Open" as well as to "Save"?  With "Open" you only open the file, there's no downloading required.  Then again, I'm no computer whiz by ANY stretch of the imagination, and I don't know how your PC is configured.

Roy,

You should download Quicktime v6 and install it on your computer. That way if WMP fails you can always use the Quicktime plugin.

If you install Quicktime. Make sure you click yes to the QT plugin for your browser, the option should appear sometime during the installation

One thing that always strikes me about people like Ms Baker is that she is a lawyer which means she's been through law school which means that she's supposedly studied law and its history.

So why does she seem to have either no idea about or no respect for rule of law and objective legal fact?  Why does she seem to have no understanding of how important these things are to a free society?

She's like someone with a PhD in biology who believes in creationism.
