One hundred years ago, kids got to spend a lot more time with their Dads. In fact, they often spent as much or more time (every day) with their Dads as their Mothers, especially the boys, especially in Summertime. One hundred fifty years ago, even a greater percentage of kids got to spend large amounts of time with their Dads. I know all about that, because I spent the first 18 years of my life living on a farm in the Midwest.
1910 seems to be the highest number of Farmers living on a farm of any year, but the percentage of people in the population living on a farm has gone down every year since the country was founded.
