"Feminist icon and former Al Gore sartorian guru Naomi Wolf has found Christ. I'm not comfortable commenting on her conversion, except to say I wish her well. But I do want to quote an account from the Glasgow Sunday Herald:"

"Revered as a feminist icon, then slated for being an intellectual lightweight, Naomi Wolf has experienced highs as well as lows ... and then she met Jesus"

"'I wasn't myself in this visual experience," she continues. "I was a 13-year-old boy sitting next to him [Jesus] and feeling feelings I'd never felt in my lifetime, of a 13-year-old boy being with an older male who he really loves and admires and loves to be in the presence of. It was probably the most profound experience of my life. I haven't talked about it publicly.'

Well, no wonder. She confesses she still feels awkward speaking about it. "It's very embarrassing. We're intellectuals, we're on the left, we're not supposed to talk like that," she says later."

The Biscuit Queen

Naomi Worlf found something that gets her back in the press. I doubt it was Jesus.

Perhaps it is being asked once too often about the hitherto unexplained "mid-life crisis" that caused her to go off, in her early 40s, into the woods of upstate New York to write her latest book, The Treehouse. This self-help meditation on her father's wisdom has drawn accusations that the author is embracing what she used to refer to as "patriarchy".

Ah, a new book.
The spreading of information about the [quantum] system through the [classical] environment is ultimately responsible for the emergence of "objective reality."

Maybe now that she has found Christ, she can find forgiveness for what she has done to society.
: How many feminists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

A: THAT'S NOT FUNNY!

Naomi Wolf has 'found Jesus'?

Oh....jeeeeeeeezus!!!!!

But I suppose that's a good thing all in all. Cracks are
appearing in the feminist wall; the flakes are flaking off
to form a growing pile of detritus along the base.
The public will remark this, and adjust its perception
of feminism accordingly.

My opinion of Ms. Wolf remains unchanged -- neither better nor worse.

Titurel

Note that she didn't "find Christ" through a Bible-believing church of Christians, nor was she baptized, nor did she accept Jesus as her savoir etc.  None of the traditional paths of access were followed in her case.  She is not part of a group of believers.  It happened like this:

"Born-again Christians might nod in recognition at Wolf's awakening, but secular society will find it extremely bizarre. At the time, she was struggling with writer's block, and sought help from a specialist, who induced what Wolf calls "a light meditative state", then asked her to walk downstairs in a classic deep relaxation technique. "I opened the door and there he was," recounts Wolf.

"I wasn't myself in this visual experience," she continues. "I was a 13-year-old boy sitting next to him [Jesus] and feeling feelings I'd never felt in my lifetime, of a 13-year-old boy being with an older male who he really loves and admires and loves to be in the presence of. It was probably the most profound experience of my life. I haven't talked about it publicly."

I'm not saying it's good or bad.  But it is a bit misleading to say she is a Christian or has "found Christ" with all the cultural baggage attached to those expressions.  She found Christ* with an asterisk next to the term.

She also says she will continue to be a dedicated Feminist AND a born again christian.

Lighting strike in 5, 5, 3, 2, .....
Imagine waking up tomorrow to find
that unbelievably rape is now legal.

You would be freaking out, telling everyone you ran into this is crazy- something needs to be done... now!!! And then every man you told this to just very smugly and condescendingly says...

"Hey... not all men are 'like that.'"

Titurel

I have some experience with disembodied beings.  That is to say, living beings that do not inhabit a physical body as earthly creatures do.

An ethereal being can claim to be anybody at all.  To impress and influence you they can claim to be Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, the Buddha or Jesus Christ.  It often happens that a single entity claims to be many different famous personages, leading  the medium to think she has been in touch with a whole catalog of saints and  Napoleons when in actuality she is being deceived by a clever entity for its own purposes.

If a visualized entity claims to be Jesus Christ how can you prove it wrong?  You are so filled with light and blissful love-feelings that it is very convincing that it is the real thing.  How does one know, though?  It cannot be verified in any way.  Wishful thinking, the sincere desire to believe that it actually IS true, that Jesus really did appear to me and that God really does love and care about me, often gets the better of even very intelligent people who would normally doubt such claims.

In any case, after the initial bliss-event wears off and there are no further communications the victim is free from the clutches of the deceitful entity.  But if it continues it can lead to psychosis and death.  Elizabeth Claire Prophet is a good example of the consequences of dabbling.

Or in other words, a far greater nutbar than she was previously.(Wasn't Naomi one of the chief theoreticians claiming that anorexia/bulimia and womens' Body Image Blues was the fault of men??)

Naomi will become a two-headed caricature, and this will weaken feminism's credibility.

Sir Percy

What will other feminists say, I wonder. For those familiar with 'Little Britain's' neo feminist, me, me, me, Princess of the Housing Estates, Vicki, a product of the UKs  education and welfare system under feminism, she would say:

Ahh but, no but, yes but, no but, like I had a friend, well she's not my frein' anymore coz she told on a teecher and made out he'd touched her up even though she waited until she didn't get a good grade and only got a D which is only half of her bust anyway which is all he probly touched but she's used to touch ups anyway, coz I know she had a touch up behind the bike sheds wiv Billy what I was going out wiv, an'  'e touched bowf of 'em and she was a bit too keen then an' she touched his willy too so I told on him and he deserved it anyway, the pig, and 'e got extra 'omework an's in jail now so there, so she can't be believed can she, like, so she's so like Naomi ya  know so I don't believe she saw Jesus coz, well he's dead aint 'e and anyway no one believes in 'im anymore an' we all gone over to horrorscopes and that,  an' she said she was a 13 year ol' boy and that's coz she's probly touched up a teechers willy 2 and wants to be a teecher an' 'ave her own willy. I hope she becomes a caflic coz she can wear a dress then an' be Pope.
vil, like misery, is Protean, and never greater than when committed in the name of 'right'. To commit evil when they are convinced they are doing 'good', is one of the greatest of pleasures known to a feminist.

Naomi Wolf has 'found Jesus'?

Ok Jesus. Don't worry. We shave the beard and get you a hair cut and glasses and maybe we can sneak you out of the country before she finds you again.

She may be a "born-again" something, but that something isn't "Christian."  What tripe.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
