We are working on one and signs for the upcoming F4J rally in Columbus on June 17th, any ideas?

I say focus on EACH of the major emotions.. while giving some factual information for our logical *cough cough male cough cough* thinkers. lol

Actually, if this billboard thing seems to be on track, I can give periodic donations to help keep it going.

At Men's Movie Guide, every day someone will arrive at my site using a search phrase such as "male bashing on TV". I see that today someone has Google searched "sick of male bashing". This is a popular feeling among average people.

The billboard could say something like "Rebel. Be Proud." The picture could be of a boy who is proud of succeeding at a typical male/boy activity. Underneath it could say something like "Male bashing hurts everyone." or "Male bashing is just another form of prejudice."

Also, I like the idea of a logo that people could recognize to see that the same group (us) are behind the various billboards. It could be a blue male symbol with a smile in it like a smiley. (The happy male symbol that I use at Men's Movie Guide.)

I like it because it shows a pro-male stance, but in a happy positive way.) It would be cool if the symbol caught on and we started to see it everywhere!

Once we get up and running for real, I am hoping a few here who don't have much money and don't earn a lot, either, will match my effort to cut down on costs in order to contribute.  Brown-bagging, giving up my bag of Cheez-Its every day (which really shouldn't be a sacrifice, I'm so bored with them but I eat them anyway) should net at least $60 in one month.  If only five other persons matched that, we'd have another $300.

More later - I'm on a 14 day stretch at work right now.... :?

If we're an "us", then we need a name, don't we?

All the above stuff is the product of a number of protests, and just didn't happen.  We've been creating all this stuff for years and years.

My best advice for your event is to set a "reasonable" goal for signs and as you get near the time of the rally just tell yourself, "It will be what it is and that's it."  It's really not that important that you make every sign you'd like to have, or get every person there you'd like to have.  Just work hard at it, and the day before the event just tell yourself, "It will be what it will be and that's going to be okay."

If you guys were closer, I'd join you, but it's about 1700 miles too far.  I'd love to be with you at your event.  Remember too, have fun and keep everything legal.

I have a grandson.  Meaning he's male.

And that, as a loving grandmother, concerns me.

Many persons are not aware of the bias against males these days, nor the risks they face.  It's only because my partner was falsely accused that I myself have half a clue.

But only half a clue.  It can only be "half a clue" because, you see, I'm not male.  Please know that I do realize I can never fully understand, but that doesn't mean I can't care and can't help.

This billboard campaign could be a crucial catalyst in assisting others who, like myself a few years ago, are unaware of the problems men face in American society today.

That said, it is critical that we execute this in a professional manner.  Organization is key.  All facets need to be explored, as well making certain those who respond positively to the message have information on whom to contact for further facts, assistance, etc.

Jen, if you could contact NCFM-GNY, that would be wonderful.  I'm a member, but they don't know me from Adam  :D  -  and you're their newsletter editor.
